  1. Im looking to get an induction kit for my VRS. alot of people say get the ITG maxogen because its got much less restrictions. But im really keen on getting the VWR one as this setup below is super attractive IMO. has anyone got any ideas/links how to achieve this look? Must i relocate the battery? Ideally i’d want to put it in the boot but whats the procedure? also anyone got a VWR intake for sale/can guide me on the sales section on this forum?
  2. This would be interesting to know! they’re £9 something from AwesomeGTI has anyone done this before?
  3. Isnt the blue circled pipe the same as the one you circled here? This is a cave engine right?
  4. allow me to correct myself Cylinder 1 was super difficult to install due to all the pipes highlighted below one of them (main one which is pressing down on the coil pack in cylinder 1) is from the oil tank, two click into the intake pipe and the giant diverter valve
  5. I cant notice any gaps as such but as they’re longer and wiggle freely my mind isnt completely at ease till i forcefully have to get that £125 bracket :( Havent got a breather mod no
  6. Heres mine with all 4 fitted unlike others as you can see cylinder 1 is a real tight squeeze due to the breather pipe, intake pipes and diverter valve but its all worth it for sure! not even a tiny bit of misfire now whatsoever! Works like a dream with the denso spark plugs
  7. So far its all good and well no problems however the real question is will that brace even fit giving the fact the cylinder one is really tight fit due to the breather pipe literally pressing on top of the coil it was a real nightmare fitting that one
  8. Well said! i havent bought a bracket so they’re dangling abit in the air the only one i’ve seen is for €125 from RTMG, do you know of any slighlty cheaper elsewhere?
  9. Only £45 for all 4 believe it or not works like magic, just because it doesnt have the big NGK logo or whatever other big brand hence the price KIMISS 4pcs Repalce Ignition Coil System for 06E905115E https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07JGS8XQZ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_wsz9CbVFC5ZGS
  10. First thing i did this morning was call RTMG and got advised to check to fuses all, one fuse number 30 was blown, responsible for fuel pump, ignition, cruise control and the operation of PTC relay.. fired up like a dream once i replaced this, not even a single jutter
  11. Right guys i really need someone who’s actually fitted these darn coils to their VRS to respond because i’ve just spent the past 3 hours opening each and every connecter wire from the port and rearranged each one precisely as shown in the video. Car still does not start up! i can not even go to work tomorow as a result of this
  12. Yeah i figured that out spent half the day on these coil packs, the video skoffski attached right at the end shows only 3 cylinders having been replaced, cylinder head 1 did not have a red top most likely due to the oil breather pipe giving him the same hassle it gave me but with 2 mans hands we secured it but i dont know how the others have managed as for the wiring, i believe the order needs to be changed in order to work with the R8 coils, tried using a really tiny screwdriver that fits in to the pin gap but couldnt figure out how the unlocking mechanism works for each wire.. checked youtube however still no help
  13. Managed to change all four cylinders to the red coils but the car will just not start was a huge fight between myself and the oil breather pipe that wouldnt sit in its place after the longer coil pack. connected everything up and it just wont start? Any advice?
  14. Right i got you what about the pin removing tool the step after removing the purple plastic casing in the video, any idea what exactly he does ??
  15. What does he do with the car terminal remover tool? the video is the steps i followed took the purple part out, connected the plug and stuck the coil back in, but i find it doesnt sit firmly, no matter how hard you push down it will still feel loose/rotate with ease.. what does the coil adapter do?
  16. By loom i presume you mean the plastic/fabric covering over the wires? i didnt do that all i did was pull out the coil packs, take out the purple cover inside the connector plug and plug them in the red coil packs and stick those back in
  17. The one on the left is supposedly the OEM with the broken pin cover that i accidentally ripped off. Adapter for what? is the one on the right the correct one? Is it normal for the car not wanting to start immediately after having the coils changed?
  18. After abit of fiddling around and trying different methods i managed to get cylinders 2,3,4 replaced however cylinder 1 would just not fit due to the GFB diverter valve connector plug, placed the OEM coil in there and the car just wouldnt start... replaced all of them back to stock coils and still wont start i give up
  19. Hi peeps i bought the coil packs and tried them today and they just dont fit.. they’re longer than the OEM and the connector plug doesnt fit at all what am i doing wrong as i know many others have managed to fit these
  20. I am stuck between going outright and purchasing 4 pack of R8 coils and seeing if that solves the issue, or taking the car to the VW/Audi specialist whom are a recommendation of AMD tuning which is local to me and paying them around the same cost of the coils for a thorough diagnostic? and then further charges to resolve whatever issue they present on the table What would you do?
  21. I was initially suspicious of oil usage but its not drinking any at all, if any a tiny bit. How would i check spark gap?
  22. Update: checked the plugs individually today and all seem in tact. A friend of mine works in a garage so he helped out and a few bystanders complimented the Denso Iridium plugs as being one of the best on the market (thank you Mr Skoffski) as the plugs seemed in tact, i swapped them between the cylinders and to be honest it seems like the misfire has gotten worse! the plugs did all have some oil on them but 2 guys at the garage said that it’s normal however google haunted me with it potentially being a gasket fault/O ring fault etc.. so im not sure what to make of it? thinking of changing the coil packs and hoping for the best but is that my next step? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4pcs-Audi-A4-R8-Ignition-Coil-Packs-U5014-Coil-On-Plug-48041-Performance-Upgrade/312596422146?pageci=a188c278-cfb1-40c0-9583-daa9b74a9d16 looking at these ..
  23. What does “try” mean? change each plug one by one and floor it after each change? but that still wont be accurate as my misfire happens on occassions unpredictably between mainly 4-5000 rpm and its a very short stutter lasting only between for example 4600 rpm and 4800rpm and then its gone
  24. I agree standing quarter has been hard to achieve as its almost impossible to find a nice 1/4 mile long stretch of road thats quiet and doesnt pose any risks of pot holes and humps. Thats why im doing my 0-60 as good as possible before taking it to Santa Pod for a few runs. pilot sport 4 better than Uniroyals? I want another dyno run to know the exact figure as more mods have been done and how much the difference would be also as proof if it comes to selling the car
  25. So what does that mean for me? Just means the ECU is the old one and the engine is new but ... ?
