I guess that not so many are remapped. By and large the folks buying them are not really in that demographic. I have a 272 primarily because I wanted a Superb but didn’t want a diesel. And ideally I needed to tow with it. So the 272 was the only choice. I find myself very rarely booting it , at present I’m on an economy drive to see what I can realistically get by driving NSL - 42.5 back from BHX to Nottingham last night for example. I’m doing many more miles than I thought in a new job and that difference between the 34mpg of the 272 and say 55 from a diesel e class starts to look attractive even if the performance will vastly differ. Love the car and like not having diesel clatter but not enough to live with a 20mpg gap if I am doing 25k a year.

It’s definitely possible to get up there. In the summer in my old 280 saloon I did Nottingham to kings Lynn in 36C heat and got 44mpg! In the winter in the new 272 Estate I’m scraping 33 average.

I test drove a 220 last summer and could barely stop it wheel spinning in the wet. Get some winter tyres =sorted.

True but hybrids often limit the towing capacity - Passat was 1600kg but many are much less like 500kg.

Yes I’d be interested in the towing side - what’s the weight limit on what you can tow? I have a 280 primarily to get the weight up for towing.

40.4 in my new (3k mls) 280 combi I collected today - oxford to derby, NSL on motorway.

I have no imagination so I swapped my black 280 L&K hatch for this white sport line plus 280 estate 😆

That ain’t the biggest issue here. 91MPG and only 87/100 green score 😂
