As I said they were very corroded, and seem to be made of cheese.

69 plate superb service advice
Thanks both, I'd like this car to last me many years. I've just ordered an under carriage pressure washer adapter to get under the car and hopefully remove the salt to prevent rust. 7 speed gearbox, I'll get it done at 40k I had the brake fluid changed again after a Skoda dealership did it, the breaking power seemed to be worse following their work and I didn't believe they did it properly if at all. They also recommend discs and pads all round for £820 so I asked my independent to check it over as it was under warranty and would have a good argument that they shouldn't need it after so few miles. For £45 at the independent garage it was worth it. They agreed discs and pads didn't need it but the rear discs were a bit scored, probably from it sitting over COVID. I decided to change the rear discs myself for around £75 all in. It's not a 4x4, although I wish it was. The car is fully loaded, with 4x4 the only thing missing. No mention of cambelts?

69 plate superb service advice
Hi all, I'm after some advice on servicing my 69 plate superb, 2.0 TDI dsg with 25,755 miles on the clock. The car has been well looked after and has had almost as many brake fluid changes as oil changes. I guess I'm asking for the not so obvious things and when I should do them, for example dsg oil change, cambelt and other service items or recommend by a good forum that I may have missed. Below is the history of the car, with most of the servicing done before I got it. Appreciate the advice 29.01.2021 1407 miles oil change 11.02.2022 4257 miles oil change, air con service, service campaign 96H4 27.01.2023 6310 miles oil change, brake fluid change, 3 year 30k service 19.01.2024 9061 miles oil change, air con regas, mot, 4 year service 25.10.24 11289 miles oil change, brake fluid change, 10.04.25 16000 miles 4 new tyres fitted 29.04.25 16997 miles brake fluid change 29.05.25 17505 miles rear discs and pads changed 08.09.25 20833 miles oil and filter change only. 26.09.25 cabin filter change only

intermittent horn fault, and Adaptive cruise control stopped working.
Its the battery, and a few of us have had the same issues. Do you use a wireless Android Auto adaptor by any chance?

New battery time?
Just tested mine, the instructions aren't the best to say the least. I input 70ah Which was halfway between the two set points on the tester. Linked it up and got the following when the car was switched off and left for 2 hours. The readings surprised me on what I assume is the original battery 69 plate with 22k miles on the clock. I'd be interested to know your thoughts

Option to enable/disable dynamic LED rear indicators.
How can I turn mine off of dynamic and onto static? I think the scrolling indicator looks awful IMO.

New battery time?
I was ready to but when I checked with a multimeter it was fine.

New battery time?
Sorry I was trying to be funny saying it caused no issues when off. I'd be interested to know if the same random unplugging resolved someone else's issue as it really doesn't make much sense. Are you getting the random wiper sweeps when the stalk is in the off position? Maybe it's something linked to the steering wheel controls and the clock spring. Odd indeed

New battery time?
I don't understand this direction of conversation. My ACC and horn didn't work when the AAWireless device was plugged in (and the car is running) it no longer has this issue since I removed it. What's all the chat about the car being off got to do with it? I'm sure it does lose power but that's not when I'm trying to drive on a motorway with ACC and use the horn.

New battery time?
My horn and ACC are also fine, when the car is turned off....

New battery time?
Random question.. do you have and use a wireless android auto adaptor? It sounds almost unbelievable but I think mine was caused by using an AAWireless adaptor to link my android phone to my car. The device wasn't working properly and I kept having to reset the infotainment system and unplug / re plug in to get it to work. Since I went back to wired Android auto the problem hasn't happened even once. If it was the adaptor or the constant drain on the battery I don't know but seems to be fixed. Interested to know
