  1. We bought a five year old Octavia Elegance Tdi in November last year. We had a number of problems which were all sorted out under the 3 month warranty including roll bar bushes to stop a clunking underneath and a turbo overhaul to stop it oveheating and stopping. Our problems were not all sorted out within the 3 months, we still had difficult starting and generally lumpy running which was diagnosed by Martin as a mis aligned cam belt which had been fitted by another garage 10,000 miles previously. The problem was sorted out in their usual efficient manner and they even extended our warranty to 4 months because of our difficulties. I can only say that everyone from Adrian the general manager to Martin the mechanic and Cath the long suffering (but very cheerful) service receptionist were very professional and helpful and as a previous post notes a courtesy car was provided every time. Again a long trip back and forth but through the beautiful forest and well worth it. Highly recommended.
  2. I'm a bit new to all this, I have owned an Octavia Elegance TDI for about four months now, it is five years old and we had a few problems to start with but the supplier (Winner Garage of Cinderford sorted everything out under their 3 month warranty and even extended it to four months when our problems continued. The main causes of the problems were a turbo that was stopping due to carbon build up and a mis-timed diesel injection due to a wrongly fitted timing belt. I must admit I was very impressed by their professional approach to putting things right. I found your forum when I was looking for a suitable point to connect a supplementary socket for caravan towing, the advice was very helpful and better than I found after hours of searching the "Haynes" manual. I,m not much of a "Petrol Head", I ask a car to be reliable, carry lots of stuff and be economical and so far I have not been disappointed. I am however very impressed with the amount of electronic control and information systems, I just hope they continue to function for a long time. Thanks for your help so far. Traveltrev0
