  1. For £549 is it a cam belt and water pump belt, or cam belt and replacement water pump? When booking in for next week, I said don't bother with the water pump bit for an extra £100 (thinking that's a lot for a water pump belt), but if the pumps are known to be a weakness, and the extra £100 covers pump replacement it might be worth it... Si.
  2. I have a 2015 2.0D Superb, prompting me for inspection service. 43K miles on the clock. Local Skoda dealer are saying they also recommend cam belt change. 43K seems awfully early for a cam belt to me? Are they trying it on, or is that appropriate? Si.
  3. My dealer kindly used randomly placed self tappers front and rear on mine (including an extra unused set of rear holes just left as bare metal) so I just used sticky pads when I put mine on - they won’t need to come off for a few years anyway... Si
  4. Definitely wasn’t that in this case, but I know what you mean... I have disabled the boot pop on my Seat for just this reason (same Keys). Coming out of the house in the morning and finding your boot wide open and that it has been rifled through is not a nice feeling. Si.
  5. Closing under power. The annoying thing is - I went out last night to do some further testing and it wouldn't do it!! Si.
  6. Yes, I had turned the beeping off, but I think I might turn it back on again. Simon.
  7. It also often takes two presses of the button on the top of the tailgate when we do want it to close... anyone else? Si
  8. So I have had the car for just a week, and have already been clonked on the head three or four times by the boot closing itself. We open the tailgate using the remote. After the boot has been open for about 30 seconds, the boot closes itself again - usually onto our heads as we are bent over getting something out of the boot. I can’t find anywhere this is set? Note, this is out of warranty. I need to get it back to the garage as the tailgate handle doesn’t work, but I don’t know whether this is another fault, or if it’s a setting somewhere I have missed. Si.
  9. Because the warranty ran out in December and I only bought the car used last week. I can live with it, but figured if it was a cheap / easy fix... I’m picking up some carpet mats tomorrow night from my local dealers, so will have a word with the parts guy. Si.
  10. Nope, no warranty I’m afraid. Si.
  11. I used the latest beta version of Carista to tweak various coding options on my new (to me) estate. Turned off lock / unlock and tailgate beeps. Turned on Scandinavian rear lights. Turned on traffic sign recognition. Turned on auto fan level display. Turned on auto reverse wipe. and probably a few other tweaks and touches I can’t remember... Si.
  12. The chrome lip of the front of my handbrake button is peeling making it quite rough to the touch. Does anybody know if new switches are available separately from the surround? Also, is the surround removed from the centre console just with an upward tug? Si.
  13. Hi everybody, I just bought a 2015 2.0D SE L Executive 150 Estate in Business Silver with lots of toys. Thrilled with it. So relaxing to drive, and almost as comfy as the XC70 it has replaced... Have spent the morning upgrading the Satnav and changing a few items with my Carista ODB2. However, one thing we didn’t pick up on the test drives was that the tailgate handle doesn’t work (as we had opened by remote).. not sure how big a job that is going to turn out to be. Si
