  1. i have always fitted NGK zfr5p-g plugs. What alternatives would you trust? I am ordering some service parts on-line and they are not being offered as options on the site i am buying from. Should i just stick to those and source local?
  2. Thank you so much. Thats the second time you have helped me - should put you on a retainer!
  3. Using my reg I find that there are two different fitments for disks for my 2006 Ambiente 1.2. These being 239mm and 256mm. Other than take the wheel off to measure (not possible today), can someone advise which is correct? My Vin number is TMBNY46Y064532871 thank you
  4. I meant to come back and say thanks for the advice on this. Fitted the non aircon belt with no issues 6 weeks ago
  5. I wlll have another look - more carefully. I sort of discounted that as I would have thought an air leak would throw the same error quite quickly. Thanks for the help on the fuel filter - going to have replace anyway as I am changing the drive belt on Saturday with the help of my mechanic friend
  6. I had a problem a few weeks ago with a rough engine - stalling. Hard exceleration seemed to cure and get me home. Thought it was a duff coil pack but after checking on diagnostics there was a thin fuel on bank one error. Changed the coil pack anyway as I had a spare and cleared the error which has not returned but I thought possibly some crap via the filter may have caused the fault Under specifications on ECP it states "2 Connectors,3 Bar Pressure Regulator, with integrated pressure regulator, with pressure regulator"
  7. I am sorry - Halfords site will not give me a link that i can share. Same one on ECP https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/crosland-fuel-filter-503440948
  8. This one ? https://www.halfords.com/car-parts?cgid=165539&pid=503440948
  9. Hi Pete that is very good of you. The reg is OV55XZB
  10. Trying to order a fuel filter for my 6Y2 1198cc 47KW 64HP FABIA MK1 2006 Without taking it off - how do I work out which to buy - looking on Halfords site ? Had a look under neath and cannot see any markings on the existing filter
  11. The noise appeared to be coming from lower down. After relaxing the belt, spinning the pulley on the air con unit by hand there is some noise from there. As we don't use the defunct aircon anyway is there any downside other than the cost of the replacement belt in trying this. The motor factor guy was full of horror stories of different size pulleys etc but as you point out - from the diagram it just seems like rerouting to miss out 2 pulleys with a shorter belt
  12. The bearings appear to be shot on the air con compressor (intermittent metalic shrieking noise) on our 2006 Skoda Fabia Mk1 1.2 64. We have not used the aircon for the last 8 years because of the expense of replacing leaky seals. Our mechanic friend suggests bypassing the air con compressor / removing it and the guide pulley above using the shorter belt that is designed for the non air-con version. I just spoke to a motor factor who said that would not work. Is he right because I have doubts looking at the diagrams it seems possible ?
  13. That is very helpful - advice. Thank you - I will have a look.
  14. We have a Mk1 2006 Ambiente 1.2 6 4bhp and recently the lock / unlock switch does not work. The car locks / unlocks using the key manually or remotely no problem. I have replaced the whole windows / central locking drivers side switch but the problem is still present. I assume that as remote central locking works it is not a fuse issue. Any ideas ?
  15. Yes - I meant I dont know why they say to take care undoing the old clips - as the whole unit is replaced
