  1. I think it’s quite similar to a T reg A6 Avant SE 2.4 we had. It was very soft in roll - crucially though it didn’t smash into the bump stops all the time or rock. I took my dad out in it and the first thing he said was that it felt like a ship at sea. I’m not looking for a sports car but I can’t believe they signed this off. I’m wondering what other VAG cars have same suspension layout but more spring/damper. Maybe a Passat...or A6? That’s not to say they would be cheaper than after market. If it rose like my friends Golf GTD estate it would be awesome!
  2. Hello All, I’ve got a 190 diesel Sportline with DSG. It has regular passive suspension. 2017. I find it far too soft. On the motorway it often rocks and nods over gentle undulations. Around town it can be thumpy. On B roads it has a lot of vertical movement and often runs out of travel - landing on the bump stops with a thud. To me it feels like the car is under sprung a little (needs firmer springs) and it’s certainly way under damped (shocks need more resistance in both compression and rebound to control body). Only thing I really don’t like about the car. Does anyone else feel the same? What can I do to sort it? Is the 280 better? Or Audi A6 springs/dampers. Should I try something aftermarket like Eibach springs or do I need to go whole hog and get shocks too. It feels like someone fitted the suspension from a little light weight 1.4 petrol Golf to a big heavy diesel...
