  1. Ive had my Mk3 1.0 6spd remapped for 20k miles now no issues. They are variants of the same transmission rated at 200nm so your not going to have a problem with box or clutch unless your an idiot and burn it off the line all the time. Just get it done and enjoy. Unfortunately I’m selling mine as going all electric. With an e-golf.. atleast it’s still vag!
  2. I think you will find at et35 they are going to be outside the fender especially the front. My car above is ET42 and is only just inside on the front. You will probably be slightly further in on 7.25 but it’s still setting then out +15 to 16mm. Et35 seems to be the go to stock offset for a lot of wheels but in my opinion looks a bit silly sometimes when they poke too much and it works fine until you lower it and your quite limited as the actual fender gap is all the suspension travel you have. I use mine to carry stuff as well and loaded the rear would be dangerously close if the tyre atleast didnt tuck.
  3. Use will they fit .com to compare the difference.
  4. Should be more usable I will take a photo from the top of mine front is definitely flush or slight poke rear might tuck. You could always add a 5mm spacer to the rear. Also if your slightly higher you could go with slightly wider tyres.
  5. Et35 is going to poke a lot even on stock tyres your going to struggle as the actual tire will be out of the well. Mine is lowered by about 55mm but the tyre is fully in the well wheel in line with the body.
  6. Mine are stock width tyre 18x8j ET42. This is as far in as you can possibly get with an 8j wheel so works out almost flush.
  7. I’m selling mine as just ordered a new e-golf. The petrol bill is killing me at £250+/mo
  8. I’m personally not worried at all about it but some are and I am interested to see what mine says for science. Hahha
  9. I’ve had so far a 58 plate1.6 tdi octy pretty smoky. No dpf issues but plenty of miles.. got rid due to the new mot and barely passed. 07 Audi 1.6 again slightly sooty especially when sat for a few days no issues except for mot. Mapped a3 1.6 no smoke no problem. 14 plate octy 80k only done city miles no problems no smoke returns well over 60mpg. Our current cars are my 68 plate fabia and a 69 octy sportline that has about 100 miles on..
  10. Sounds to my like the person mapping may not have adjusted the pedal lag who mapped it?
  11. I’m assuming mine isn’t the highest mileage. But as you say it’s been mapped since 5k so in theory should be more at risk.. time will tell but as above after owning many diesels it’s doubtful we will see many problems on petrol. Note this isn’t a comment backed by evidence but of all the diesels chucking out plumes of soot only a few have issues.
  12. Dealer fitted mine it’s in an unused slot I will update tomorrow.
  13. A map cures the dead pedal. I’m on 145 stage 1 1.0 tsi
  14. I think the big difference here is ultimately there isn’t the ash present on petrol as diesel. As well as the construction doesn’t need regens. I’ve got 20k on mine and plenty of other with more than that.. yet to hear of any clogging or needing a replacement. Granted we don’t have 100k motors over the 100k mile marker yet..
  15. I’d just leave it General we appreciate your contributions to the thread. Nothing you say is going to matter he’s made his mind up. Haha
  16. So after all that and actual facts what are you arguing exactly? Do you have facts or just speculation? Because you seem to be arguing a point you have no experience with aside from what you “think”?
  17. I think they look hideous something you see on American trucks... I would stick with film if your bothered about it.
  18. I think the Skoda one app is my favourite. All the metrics plus a live screen with widgets for power mpg torque breaking ect. Keeps track of fuel ect.
  19. Yet every other boy racer out there is blinding us with them. Haha
  20. I have the led and cornering leds in mine ant they are incredible probably better than most cars I have driven even the Audi matrix. As far as upgrading as the new ones only have normal reflectors it’s probably not the best to just put in leds. I imagine a swap would be possible but as with all retrofits would require some rewiring and coding.
