  1. Hi, this was the video that I referred to when working out where the motor is and how to replace it: The part I got was on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384761647770 via this seller: EU AUTO PARTS LTD https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/euautopartsltd?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=eo3flM5cSvO&sssrc=3418065&ssuid=WBX728djSOm&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY i checked the part number from the original once I knew that i could get the old motor out and sent a message to the seller just to be 100% sure that it was the right part. Once you have access to the motor there are three screws that hold it in place and then two more to remove the resistor from the motor.
  2. I decided to go ahead and change the heater blower motor (part ref 5q2819021b) and this has fixed the issue. My fan speed is behaving again as it should and all heater controls are okay.
  3. Hi, newbie here, please can someone help? The fault I have is as follows: The heater blower fan is fading out and then stopping after running for a few minutes. It does not seem to matter what speed the control is set to. My Octavia has Climatronic on it and the fan speed control is one with lights around it rather than "off-1-2-3-4". It also does not seem to matter whether I set the Auto Windscreen button, or any of the other direction buttons (windscreen, face, feet). Setting to Auto or having A/C on or off also does not seem to matter. Whatever the settings for the other buttons if I turn the fan speed on after a period of less than 5 minutes the fan gradually fades out and stops. Sometimes I can press the Off button then try the fan again - sometimes it works, sometimes it feels like I have to wait a few minutes. I also tried the 'trick' of pressing the 'face' button and A/C button for a few seconds to run the flap reset cycle. This does not always get the fan running again. I am fortunate enough to have a friend with a VCDS scanner that produced te attaced in relation to Heater Blower: We ran a scan, then I turned on the fan to full and after a few minutes you can hear the fan slowly fade and stop. We ran the scan again and the attached shows the only entry that changed. I am not sure whether to replace the heater blower motor or the resistor or both?! Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. (I have text files for the full scans but wasn't sure if I should post those or what 'personal' data there is in the file that might identify me/the car!!! Happy to post with guidance though!)
  4. Hi all, new here! Happy to be the owner of a silver Octavia Estate 1.6 Diesel automatic!
