  1. Hey! Thanks so much for the response! I'm curious as to whether an aftermarket knob could be used instead of the original as just about every one you see with more than 40k kms on it, exhibits the same wear style. Thanks for the info on the centre vent - I'm happy to buy the assembly if it can be removed without removing large parts of the dash. I'll do some googling. Appreciate the input.
  2. Hi all, If there's a thread about this already, it'd be great if someone would point me toward it. I've got a Mk3 Octavia VRS (2015) manual. It has the typical issue where the gear shift knob is deteriorating, the faux leather is wearing out and the chrome trim is flaky. Is there a decent aftermarket alternative that is relatively simple to use to replace the stock one with? Bonus question - The chrome trim around my centre air/AC vents in the dash is flaking, can this be purchased as a new/replacement part? Cheers!
  3. They appear on the facelift of the Mk3 Octavia RS due to the increase in rear track between the PFL and FL cars. I think rear track is 1506mm on PFL cars and 1544 on FL cars (this will, of course, vary with non standard wheels and/or spacers). Regardless of their functionality, I like the look of them and plan to fit them to my PFL car.
  4. Wheels on it are E1 Senator rims (staggered). The Commodore served me well, great for long trips and towing trailers. In the last couple of years, my commute has become shorter, I dont often have a requirement to tow now and most of the time I'm the only one in the car, so a larger vehicle as the 'second car' didnt make much sense. Certainly keen if you have some Xtremes for sale, even if they need a refurb, etc. Cheers!
  5. I picked up my 2015 Octava RS (petrol/manual) wagon in April (with 78k kms on it). Aside from adding the bike carrier to the roof, I've not done much to it yet - * Replaced front rotors with DBA T2 * Replaced front pads with Forza FP3 * Fitted ITG panel air filter to it in the stock airbox The wheels are badly curb rashed from the previous owner, so I'm considering some VW Pretoria 19" wheels or some oem 'Xtreme' wheels but they're super here to find here. Here's some pics - front brakes before (note the really big lip on the rotors) - front brakes after - Please excuse the bad pics. Here's what the Skoda replaced - On the to do list is springs, shocks, strut mounts and a bigger rear swaybar to begin with.
  6. Just a little swim away! It probably wouldnt be too bad for the drive itself, but the head unit and the drive (due to size) would be quite costly.
  7. Thanks Mark, This is a huge help. It appears to be a mechanical fault - I'll look into having it repaired instead. Really appreciate the advice. Regards, Ash
  8. Hi all, I have a 2015 Octavia VRS which is fantastic, however the DVD/CD drive has failed in the multimedia unit in the glovebox. The head unit is fine and the SD card slots are fine. Is the unit 'dumb' in that I can simply find a used drive/multimedia unit and swap this over with my faulty one? Thanks in advance, Ash
