  1. Thanks for your question. Not sure about that. Its a 2012 TSI Auto with a DSG clutch 7 speed. And the people who replaced the clutch also replaced the mechatronic unit at the same time. The flywheel was judged by them to be in good condition so they didn't do that.
  2. Thanks for your post. Just to be clear, the car is a 2012 model TSI and I bought it privately so there was no warranty on the car. I paid 1800.00 for the clutch and mechatronic unit to be replaced and since then, the clutch has been replaced twice under waranty by the people who fitted it.
  3. Thanks meta for your reply and suggestions. Well, took it to Marshalls who indeed diagnosed clutch / flywheel - need to investigate, so returned to Auto specialist in Kent who had fitted the previous 2 clutches, (still under warranty) and they fitted a 3rd new clutch. Problem seems slightly improved but not totally so don't know where to go now. They said, if the problem persists, it can't be the clutch any longer. They actually stripped the clutch out of the car while I was there and I could see the flywheel and clutch and there were no visible signs of wear / dust / oil / etc to indicate why not functioning properly. Nobody has ever suggested it could be the gear actuator, before. I will watch the video and see what it is. The problem isn't easy to diagnose or even spot being intermittent, but it's still annoying every time I drive.
  4. Hi. I bought my Ocatvia 1.4 tsi a year ago approx, privately on Ebay for 5,800.00. Soon had a small but identifiable "clunk" changing from 1st to 2nd. Mechanic friend said clutch problem . Tried to book into Skoda dealer (Marshalls in Croydon) but fully booked for the next month plus, and, as I needed the car to go away, booked into a private garage (Automatix in Rochester). Collected car - after new clutch and mechatronic unit fitted for 1,800.00. and problem continued. Eventually took it back and had 2nd new clutch fitted. Problem continued. Took to Marshalls who identified new software to download. Did that and problem continues now. and is getting worse To book into Marshalls again they want 125.00 to investigate the problem, and I am sure they are just going to plug in their diagnostic equipment and run the same tests as before which showed no fault. When should I stop spending money on this car? Does anyone think I have a case against the company who fitted the clutch? against Skoda? Only on 55,000 miles now with full service history. Any ideas what to do next?
