Hi, I am new here after recently acquiring a new white metallic Karoq 1.5 SE L with petrol engine and DSG gearbox.

This is my first Skoda ever after having them recommended to me by various people. My previous car was a Toyota Prius. It was a good car but at eight years old it was time for a change. Anyway I decided that I would look for a suitable SUV for my slightly changed needs. I am sorry to admit it but I have always thought of the Skoda brand as ‘a bit down market’ and not very reliable. I was quite taken with the Audi Q2 but not I am afraid with the customer service at my local dealership. However after reading and comparing all the reviews I thought that the Karoq L came out very well and seemed such good value. So a test drive later and I was converted and ordered one. It was ordered in November and delivered in January from my local dealer.

So far so good. I have only done 1,500 miles in it so far and I have no complaints. It is nice to drive and I particularly like the steering and visibility compared to my Prius. Fuel consumption also seems very reasonable. Mind you I do tend to drive for economy. I am pleased that I had the DSG gearbox even though it has come in for some criticism in the motoring press. Not as much it would seem though as the manual box.

So there it is, I look forward to being a member of the forum and hopefully contribute to it in the fullness of time.
