  1. I try to use adaptive cruise control wherever possible, is this the correct thing to do when trying to get more mpg or should I stick with using the foot always? What I normally do is get upto the speed limit as fast as possible then set the acc to that speed
  2. Ok but how do I force to run on a high gear in the auto? I have tried manual mode however this still seems to shift automatically if you don't do it.
  3. Hi Can you share your tips to improve better mpg with a turbo petrol 1.0 DSG engine. I read that doing to pulse and glid method is 1 of the best ways to save on mpg where you accelerate as fast as you can you the sweet spot of 50-60mph then maintain the speed. Has anyone tried this method and does accelerating fast work on a turbo engine as putting your foot down activates the turbo feature and wastes more fuel right? James
  4. So if I go with option 3 all I need to do is hold down the accelerator pedal then press the on/off button once so the car powers on then count to 20. How do I know if it worked, will there be a noise or something?
  5. Hi How is the reset of the engine done on a car without key to start relearning? I have only found how to do it with the key. James
  6. Point taken guys. I'll get a new one ASAP. Thanks for the input
  7. Hi I have some impact damage from hitting a curb on the front right tyre. Instead of doing the expensive option of buying a new tyre would I be able to cut off the damaged rubber and fill it in with some sort of rubber filler or glue? I've had it checked out and it has not punctured plus the damaged rubber is close to the rims so it won't effect the tread. James
  8. I leave it up to the mechanics. We do a tyre change with them twice a year ever since we bought the car and we also pay for them to store the tyres and clean them. Presumably before they take them off the car they would mark each one with their placement
  9. OK thanks for the input. I'm certain that there is a problem of some kind as for 3 years no issues then as I say I changed tires and also had a besiktning then suddenly I have this issue. James
  10. If you listen to the clips I cut it down to the part where it makes the sound. Only seconds long. I said that it mostly occurs after cruising round a roundabout then accelerating on a straight but so far it's never made the noise when going around the roundabout.
  11. Hi Just in the past 2 weeks I've started to get a weird sound when accelerating. It normally occurs when I cruise round a roundabout then accelerate slowly, normally it's around 40km/h i can start to here the noise. I've taken it to a mechanic and we took a test drive but nothing could be heard and I was told that he can't do anything if he can't hear the problem. A few days ago I started to audio record my trips to work and manage to capture the noise a few times. I've attached the clip where you can hear it best. What do you think is the issue and maybe when I go back to the mechanics next week with the audio file I can give him suggestions on where to look. It is really strange as at the beginning of this month I got the wheels changed from winter to summer tires then straight after that appointment I went for a besiktning (Swedish for MOT in uk) on the car which passed without any issues. I did ask the mechanic to make sure everything with the wheels was fine when I went the other week but everything was good and he said the wheel screws were tight. So I'm thinking they done something at the besiktning but I'm not sure what as it's just an inspection of the car and they shouldn't have to touch anything. And another weird thing is that my new car warranty just ran out about a month ago 😕 If this is relevant its a DSG 110. Not knowledgeable on cars so any more information you need just ask. 14. Hello I am using one of my old phones that I keep in the car always connected to the usb port to use android auto. Is it possible to connect 2 phones to the cars Bluetooth? I would like to connect my everyday mobile for making and receiving phone calls while having my old phone for media such as playing Spotify or Google maps audio directions. Is this possible? James
