  1. Right I found it!! MarkyD, your tip was the key - but it is a bugger to get to. If anyone else has this issue I will share the method. It's behind the climate controls but the screws that it's held in with aren't very accessible so...... Remove the ashtray assembly (screws are under the gearstick cowel) behind there there are 2 screws which hold the sides of the centre console in place. Remove the frame round the stereo and climate controls (start at the top cos it seemed to come out easier. 4 screws hold the climate controls in and then there's 3 plugs on the back to remove. There's a screw holding each of the side panels in place then a few clips behind to free them off. The module can be viewed in the void left by the climate controls being removed but you'll need to go in the sides to remove the 2 screws holding it in place.
  2. Oh bugger, that looks like it's behind the stereo!! Looking in the completely wrong place! Cheers for that, hope it helps.
  3. Thanks for that info and it helped me do some more digging. Apparently the part I'm looking for is 1T0907357 and from a couple of forum posts I've managed to get some pointers on location. Some say behind the passenger side dash end cap - can't spot it there. Another has said behind the glovebox so had that stripped out this morning and still can't find what I'm looking for 😭😭😭
  4. Checks out as fine but loosing 5v to both sensors and supposedly this is due to this control module that I'm trying to find the location of??
  5. Unfortunately there's nothing been thrown up on the dash and neither of the garages have divulged what codes they're getting. First garage said they were getting no communication with the front axle sensor so I had that replaced. Second garage have rerouted the 5v power to try and bypass the issue but this worked for a couple of minutes then the headlights dropped back down on the failsafe. As I say they have routed this issue to this headlight range module within the centre console somewhere so whatever found code would lead you in this direction is what I presume they found??
  6. Hi guys, Got an Mk2 Octy and have an issue with the self levelling headlights. Been to one garage and they said that one of the sensors was the issue under the right wheel arch. had that replaced and had the same problem still - they're just pretty much pointing down and only lighting up the road about 4 feet in front of me. Had it in with an Auto- Electrician today and he says the 5v electrical supply to both of my sensors keeps dropping so the system is going into a fail safe and just dropping the headlights. He believes the issue to be the Headlight Range module but didn't have time to locate where the module is and has no further availability until into the new year. I was hoping I may track down the said module (which he thinks is somewhere inside the centre console), find the right part and hopefully solve the issue cos it sounds like a massive job of disassembling the dash unless some of you lovely people have come across this and can point me in the right direction to locate this module without major invasive surgery?? Preferably answers on here but on a postcard will also be acceptable just as long as I can see a bit more of the road on a night that would be great!! My Octy is 2009, 1968cc TDi Laurin & Klement edition. RHD. Many thanks 🙂
  7. That's awesome, I'll have a look. Why can't things like this break in the summer 😭
  8. Last year in the snow someone clouted into the back of my parked car and drove off and I think it may be related. Do you know whereabouts the one on the rear axles is and what is looks like so I know what I'm looking for?
  9. Hi guys, My headlights used to go through a sequence of adjusting its own height when I went to start the car. Noticed it has stopped doing this and the beams are really low and hence have failed the MOT. I'm hoping there's a fuse or a relay I can replace to resolve this but can't find anything that points me in the right direction?? The car is a 2009 Octavia MK1 Lauren and Klemet edition. Thanks in advance for any assistance 👍
