  1. Yes, but would be starting at $3-4,000 and the car isn't worth repairing at that price. This DSG is $800, so worth the attempt. Just not sure if there is any manufacturer specifics or a DQ250 02E is the same regardless. Regards Scott
  2. Hi all Are there any issues swapping out a bad DSG for a good one from another marque? Say a Renault? If they are both a DQ250 02E is that good enough? Any special coding or reprogramming required? To be honest, I haven't looked in to the technical side at all yet....just spit balling and getting ideas. My 250,000km 2008 Octavia RS TDI has a bad mechatronic (unexpected gear selection fault) and I can get a low km DQ250 (50,000km) for a very good price. For the price I can get this new DSG for, it makes it cost effective to keep the Octavia for the kids rather than wreck it. Regards Scott
