Gearbox mount and the alloy block that bolts to the gearbox casing is obviously different but hopefully all will go in without issue.

Hi all, I have a 2006 Fabia VRS with a HDS gearbox which has a noisy 5th gear which we have lived with (driven around) for a couple of years but the time has now come to change the clutch so it seems daft not to sort the gearbox at the same time. Is the 6 speed gearbox unique to the Fabia VRS as it appears to be slightly different to other 02M gearboxes I have seen due to the gearbox mounting. I have a spare FMH 6 speed gearbox from an MK1 Octavia that had a ASZ engine and i know this engine was used in earlier Fabia VRS cars (mine has a BLT) To look at the gearboxes look the same and i'm not concerned about ratios but i don't want to get the old box out to find i can't use the FMH. The HDS gearboxes seem to be relatively scarce compared to 6 speed golf/octavia boxes. many thanks Barrie
