  1. Hi, our kodiaq is being returned in July. We have one umbrella rather than two, it either broke and we threw it away or we lost it. Shall i get a replacement or don’t they bother with that item? Cheers.
  2. Hi, got a couple of internal issues I need to resolve before handing back the car to VWFS. I'm guessing that the condition of the boot wouldn't be classed as fair wear and tear? The replacement cost for that panel from skoda is 95£. I'd have to fit it myself. I've checked ebay and asked one guy and he got back to me with £120. Yeah right. I've also reached out to some mobile repair guys and most of them only really do the outside. One I found said £180, yeah right. Are there not plastic specialists I've searched and have contacted some companies and they don't do this type of repair. With the BVLA guidelines for the costs of repairs, do they charge for the part or part and labour? So, basically do i just repair it myself, or hand it back and assume it be the £95 charge.
  3. That's the kind of approach we took also though it was on the lines of whether the car would be to big, could we park it easily etc. which turned out to be all just fine. We also specifically choose a 2 year lease rather than a 3 year as it was literally the same price. It's amazing how fast the time goes though!
  4. Okay guys some fair comments you've made. Thanks. So to summarise, its probably to early at this stage to enquire for point 1+2, Enquire and find out if they would sell the car to me. Enquire and find out if they would extend the lease. New car / lease, I feel this might be cost prohibitive and unlikely this time around. Look at alternatives e.g 5 seats.
  5. Surely spark plugs would be the lot, not a per plug price? Trouble is they've got you by the horns - if you want to stay within the warranty? That's why I asked if I could take it to a non Skoda garage for the oil change. Any mechanic could do that. Maybe its the material 'premium' oil costs...
  6. I guess being 'simply clever' would make sense with the way techs developing. I hope that will be it to be honest. Don't wanna pay anything more than necessary, I do recall the chap saying that it'll only need one service before handing it back when discussing the lease, Is there a way to check the 'inspection service' detail?
  7. Thanks for the replies. It's on a PCH. I tried to reduce the mileage in order to lower the monthly costs when we where in lockdown no.1. as I couldn't see us going on any long trips , but got a quote back which was exactly the same as I'd be paying -£1. So thought sod that. Its a difficult one as we don't tend to use the 7 seats as much as I thought, one of the reasons we went for a 7 seater was due to the fact that my brother at the time didn't have a car (used ours when required) now he does so the pressure for more seats is somewhat diminished. I am seriously thinking of going for a 5 seater option and actually saving some money this time around. The trouble now is we've set the bar quite high so potentially downgrading from a top of a range model at first might be a problem, but i guess we'll adjust. The other fact was that I was doing some contracting work for approx. a year, now a standard perm, so the extra funds were used for this car. One bonus due to this size of the car was that it's been great for ferrying materials for refurb work we did in the house - so defo was a great choice back then! I think i'd like to go electric based on the fairly low mileage we do, but then the costs of electric cars is putting me off. Guess I've got some time still to have a look around and see where it leads.
  8. Hi, thanks for the reply. Found this in the T&C's - so guessing this will be a Skoda dealer? 9.4 You agree to: 9.4.1 make sure that the Vehicle is serviced and maintained strictly in line with the manufacturer’s recommendations and that scheduled servicing and necessary maintenance is carried out only by authorised SKODA dealers Rang a local Skoda. £185.98. inc vat. Obviously no point in doing anything other than the bare minimum. No servicing has been done to date as it was new. Haven't a clue on the PDI's, I just got the car in June and was told that the cars are set to a 'long service' mode... the mileage is actually just gone 8k. I guess I have no choice but to go with it.
  9. Hi All, we have an L&K 2.0 on lease due to expire in June. Looking at order timescales etc, I thought i'd get the ball rolling or at least review some options before potentially handing it back then. I tend to leave things last minute so thought i'd do it now. Currently done 9k miles. It has served us well, but we haven't been able to use it for properly for long distance journeys due to the retched covid. Lease is at 10k miles per year. So Skoda quids in. Options I guess are: Renew the lease. only a punt but guessing this will be around the same monthly figure. Get another lease - though this appears to be pretty expensive to what i'm already paying for the car. In fact way higher! Buy or look elsewhere for another model. Downgrade to a 5 seater for more options. Cheers, gotakodiaq
  10. Hi, even though I could change the oil myself I'm guessing this is not going to be an option for the usual warranty, lease contract conditions etc. Therefore, for an oil change service what costs am I looking at roughly please an old thread mentions about £179... Does it have to be a Skoda dealer or can I use a non Skoda authorised dealer if that were to exist? I'd only choose the latter if the costs were sufficiently cheaper. The lease is due in June which would total a 2 year period. The car has done about 9k miles and is an L&K 2.0 diesel. Cheers. gotakodiaq
  11. The xtrail just doesn’t do it for me. If it was I’d have considered it...
  12. Why is the build time so long 😱 lack of parts of thousands of orders they just can’t fulfil? Seems idiotic when Nissan can build cars every couple of minutes...
  13. Received the following via email: “The only countries that the VE103 does not cover Cyprus and Turkey. The remaining countries within mainland Europe are covered by the VE103.” silver1011’s comment about the 12 month vadility is also correct. Cheers
