  1. Hi All, Has anyone on here swapped out a 1.6fsi to a 2.0 tfsi from a vrs into a non-vrs model? Ive got a 2005 Octy 1.6fsi with 100K miles and was wondering whether its possible to swap out the engine and box to the one from the vrs (same era)?
  2. Hi again, So I have bought the car and checked it out with Vagcom and a universal OBD2 reader thing. The engine is turning over at a healthy 750 800 or idle. The clock is reading wrong. When the car is only on ignition the clock is below the 0 reading. Do I need to worry about this or not? Also, when looking up fault codes on vagcom I got the following codes: 17439 and 16825. I'm not too sure whether the version of vagcom i have has got something to do with this. I'll get a garage to check it out fully next week.
  3. Okay thank you I will check it. I have also download vagcom to see if it brings up anything.
  4. Thank you I'll have a look tonight. Also do you think these engines are good? I've read mixed reviews of this and just want to make sure that I don't buy a car that will blow up with 2k miles. It has yearly services the only one that was missed out was 2021. If I do buy the car no matter what I'll take it to get a service done on it. The seller spent a few hundred pounds on brand new pads and discs about 5 months ago.
  5. Hi All, Hi all, Quick question. Went to see 2005 MK2 Octavia 1.6fsi with the BLF engine. The cars got 98k miles on it. The seller sent over a few videos of the car running. The rev gauge is only showing about 500 to 600 rpm after start up. On the video it seems to be running nice but Im concerned about the low revs. in person I saw that the car is running smoothly even on about 400rpm on idle. Engine is not rocking which suggests that all cylinders running perfectly. When I set off it pulls nicely too. No misfires. My dad's 1.4 octy has an idle of around 800 which I think is normal but 500 or 600 is a tad bit too low? Should I avoid this or could it be normal? Thanks
  6. Hi Guys, So my dad has a Euro Spec, Skoda Octavia 2 1.4 petrol hatchback. The engine and the gearbox is in a really good condition, even after 180k miles. However, the body work and suspension is not so much. So we were thinking if it is possible to get a scrap octavia with an engine damage and just replace it with the one we have. Do you think Skoda made some changes on mounting the engine and gearbox between a LHD and RHD? Or will it be as easy as putting 2 legos together. Also, could you guys recommend me some websites I should look at for petrol Skodas with engine damage? I tried ebay and Facebook however theres mostly diesel cars on there. Thanks, Dom
