  1. Thanks Varoom. I did what you said and figured out the problem. It was a towbar cap. It wasn't on correctly and slightly hanging in the direction of the sensor. I straightened it up and the problem went away.
  2. It's odd. My apartment bloc has a car park so I have parked in the same place for last 6 years. Since yesterday, when I start the car the problem is consistent. Permanent false reading. However, took the car out today and the problem wasn't there. Went out tonight to check on it and the problem is back. Not sure if it's considered consistent. Skoda always charge me a fortune but don't know who else to go to. Most mechanics don't seem to have good knowledge on technical issues like this and I do not have the DIY skills to fix it myself.
  3. Thanks, I have an obd scanner and it's not showing any errors. I went out to the car to clean the sensor again. It didn't fix the issue, but the sensor was flashing between red, amber and nothing there. Unfortunately, I wouldn't get a chance to get to Cork anytime soon.
  4. Hi All, This forum has always been so helpful in the past that I thought I would post my issue here. My 2015 Skoda Superb MKIII has developed a fault with one of the rear parking sensors. It is giving a false reading. Showing something is there when it is not. This happens when ever the car is started, but sometimes goes away and resolves itself. Sometimes it does not. It hasn't rained heavily in days and I cleaned the sensor repeatably to try and resolve the issue. No joy so far. Skoda are booked out for over a month here and knowing my luck they will not be able to reproduce it. Has anyone experienced this before and if so, how was it resolved? Thanks!
  5. Hi All, Recently went from a Skoda Superb Mk II to a 2015 early Superb MK III L&K. It has a lot of features like ACC, Lane Assist, Park Assist 3.0 etc. However, it's missing features like Traffic Sign Recognition and Light Assist. My question is, if I upgrade the Columbus firmware to a newer version will these features become available? Technically the kit to make these work is already in the car. I would try myself, but I've searched all over, but cannot find the latest version to try this myself. Thanks!
  6. Sorry for late reply. Just an update on my issue. It has been resolved. I had installed the GPS in my work car park which is underground so it' couldn't get reception. I have the GPS hidden in where the Columbus slots in, but reception is not the best. I only pick up 4 or 5 satellites on a good day. Where do you guys route the GPS? I don't want the wire coming out the front of the infotainment. It doesn't look nice.
  7. Is it just the Sat Nav instructions you lose with Maxidot?
  8. For the last week I've had an issue with the Sat Nav. It can't pick up any satellites. Reads 0/8, 0/9, 0/10, 0/11, etc. I followed advice on the forum here and bought a gps antenna for the car. I popped out the old one and plugged this is. However, when I turned the car on I get the same issue. Any advice?
  9. Hi, sorry for late reply. It's in the settings. I'll post a pic where it is when I'm in the car. It's working fine for me since the reset still.
  10. Thanks lad, really appreciate the offer. I was driving today for over 3 hrs and the system restarted itself twice. It also completely froze and couldn't recover. Out of annoyance and desperation I went and did a factory reset for everything. It completely resolved the issue. Drove for an hour with the system running smoothly. No lag, restarts or freezing. I also let the car sit off for an 2 hours and drive again for 30mins. Still zero issues. Praying it will remain that way. Appreciate your response to my worried posts earlier.
  11. Hi Rustynuts, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I'm based in Ireland so can't pop in. Any advice on next steps or fixes I can attempt on my end?
  12. Hi All, I bought a 2011 Skoda Superb MK2 Green line model. I bought a firmware and maps update DVD. The firmware update went perfect and the unit upgraded successfully. However, the following day when I update the maps the unit has become extremely unresponsive. It will boot up and be fine for about two minutes but then becomes a laggy mess. Not sure what to do? Do I restore factory settings? Reinstall firmware? Reinstall maps? Or take it to Skoda? Appreciate any help.
