Hi been having trouble with my dsg 6 speed octavia vrs 2010 it turns out it was a snapped selector fork it's driving now after getting it fixed but it's not as smooth as it was I know the gear box has not been reset after being replaced does it need to be done and would that help I've only done 40 miles in the car from having it done short drives 11 miles being longest or would a long drive help its just not like it was before it happened

I had one place saying if its the clutches it would be £1800 because of how things are at the moment and all that's going on the clutches where in good condition I've got it back now but seems a bit rough changing from 1st to 2nd it never did before I've only done 50 miles in it from getting it back

Finally got some one to take the box out the car and have a look that wasn't asking really high prices for the stuff it could be it turns out it was a selector fork snapped thanks for all your replies

Had it in a German car place today he said first change the oil so had that done 10 miles down the road and it happened again it works in all gears till its warm then after that if you try change in manual it shows on dash it's in 4 5 or 6 but it does change from 3rd then it will drop out of gear on the way back I could hear a slight rattle when in manual to limp it home the place I took it to said if that didn't fix it change the full box seems funny phone a different place and he's saying it's more than likely to be the clutch so think that will be next looks like it needs the box out and looking at by someone that knows a lot about them

It's a 6 speed when I got the car it was on 64000 miles now on 75000 I was told it had been done at 40000 the place I took it to scanned it and come up with a code of p2711 but said he doesn't do dsg stuff so I've got to find somewhere tomorrow to take it thanks for the reply before it happened it had been smooth in every gear and no funny sounds or juddering

Hi I'm new to dsg box's had the car 6 months 2 days ago on my way home from work it held 3rd gear a long time then when it changed come out of gear no drive turned it of then on and it only had 1 2 3 gears would just come out in 4 the next day taking it the garage it was ok from cold start but when it gets to temp it starts again just 3 gears

And will the standard fuel pump be OK for stage 2 also I've seen on other posts it could do with a dv+ putting on aswell but there cheep to buy really if that's better for the car https://www.awesomegti.com/shop-by-brand/gfb/gfb-dv-for-vag-20fsi-turbo-engines?cmp_id=1624059255&adg_id=61207848185&kwd=&device=m&gclid=CjwKCAjwscDpBRBnEiwAnQ0HQP04spb6uNHngsViJtc3Nx1hC-Rt3Jp7yjULDr-lcCFz660D3LDh9xoCCvMQAvD_BwE thanks for the help I didn't want to just map it on its own because a few new bits would make a big difference I was thinking and I don't mind spending a bit just not silly money I would like 300bhp but can the turbo take that safe it seems it costs a lot and big job to fit a bigger turbo kit I work a few miles from the place in the link above I was going in this week to see them it's apr maps on a rolling road they use there had a golf 1.8t done there years ago loved it and had no problems seems people go for revo from looking on hear
