  1. How so? :wonder: Umm, not sure what colour I have currently because I haven't got a clue where it's located at the mo! I've just tried to do a scan and the VAG COM software keeps falling over...
  2. Yeah, there's a note about the o-ring, clip is a good idea too I guess. If it does turn out to be a problem with this sensor, could it be down to the fact that the coolant has recently been drained and replaced? Had the cam belt and water pump replaced recently, just a thought...
  3. Excellent! Someone on UKMKIV's reckoned £15-£20 for one from GSF or simillar!
  4. I have a shift linkage from a TT on my Golf, gives a slighter shorter throw but doesn't reduce side to side movement. Apparently the Golf R32 is shorter than the TT, not certain of that though.
  5. So I'm not just being paranoid, my car should be idling lower than it is!?
  6. Hmm, it's been fine in colder weather than this over the last month. Is there any way of confirming the temp. sender is at fault?
  7. I took that earlier when it was warm, at idle. It doesn't sound like it's idling that much higher, to be honest I'm not sure if I'm correct on the normal idle speed, but it does seem a bit higher than normal. I had a boost hose blow off a little while back and I'm pretty sure it's not another one of those, car pulls fine but might possibly be a bit thirstier than normal?
  8. Hi all, I thought I'd ask here even though my car is a Golf (1.9 ASZ ) as I know there are a lot of clued up guys here. Anyway, my car sounded a bit 'off' earlier, maybe like the exhaust was blowing or something, I was just sort of getting a bit of a rattle/reverberation in the cabin that seemed strange, but after having a poke about I realised it was idling a bit too high. It's around 980rpm whereas it should be more like 900rpm. Car was warm and has done it again this evening, so it hasn't fixed itself yet... The car has recently been serviced around 400 miles or so ago and had a new 'zorst around 150 miles ago. Everything was fine yesterday, this has just occured today for no apparent reason. Any suggestions as to why!? Before everyone tells me to get it scanned, I would but I only have a free version that wouldn't talk to the car last time I tried, so I'm just after ideas at the mo.
  9. So my only option is to buy standard clips if i'm using standard hoses? I've called my dealer and he says it's a new hose job then, just under £50 depending on exact model. Is this the hose that an EGR delete pipe would replace?
  10. Hi all, just a quick one. I've got a PD130 Golf GTi, but as we all know, it's the same as the Fab vRS under the bonnet. Anyway, driving home from work this evening when a boost hose popped off, it's the one at the back of the engine bay on the left of the turbo going to the intercooler. I put it back on and it popped straight off again as soon as the turbo came on boost. The car is completely standard and I was wondering what the best solution would be? Can I just buy some replacement fittings from VW to be as good as new or are there some better clamps that I can get that will fit on the standard hoses?
  11. Well, the boot is fairly big, so just give them a sleeping bag each and leave them to it. If they do look a bit cramped you could always fold the back seats down to give them more room, a bit of light. They'd probably have room to play quite nicely then, especially if you take the parcel shelf out.
  12. Anything can be done, jsut depends how deep your pockets are!
  13. I had a simillar sounding problem with mine. The car was fine one night when I parked it up, the next morning it refused to go into 1s or reverse. Turned out one of the clutch plated had broke or something, luckily it only took Skoda fitting three new clutches and a flywheel to fix the problem! I echo your sentiments about the Skoda being the most unreliable car you've owned, in the nine months I owned it it broke down more than the other dozen odd cars I've owned combined!
  14. Can't be a waste of money then, not if it's adding shinyness to your bay! I'll be fitting my 6 speed one to my Golf at the weekend.
