  1. That is easier said than done! Perhaps I'll give it a try. But, the general consensus is that £1500 is achievable if I break it?
  2. Hi I have a 53 plate Fabia VRS with 160k on the clock and I'm thinking of breaking it. What do you think I'd get for it in total. Everything works but I've struggled to get any interest at £1,500. Thanks in advance
  3. 153k. Still in original turbo and clutch as well.
  4. So, it's safe to say 14's won't fit the vRS. 15's it is then. I assume mk4 golf and mk1 a3 15inch wheels will fit? What off set do I need? Cheers
  5. Hi Pete Will these Steels fit a fabia vRS? This is the first time I'm going to winter tyres so I'm just researching the cheapest best winter tyre and wheel combo. Thanks Jonathan
  6. Hi ya Folks, I have the noisiest alternator going. It's rattling constantly on idle but the ratty does go away as the revs climb, or when there is load on it. The alternator is still putting out a good charge so it's working. Does anyone know what the cause is? Is it the bearings? Can they be replaced separately or is it new alternator time?!? Thanks in advance! Jonto

  8. I got a pair of Bosch Aero-Twins from Euro Car Parts for about £17 (for the pair) with one of their discount codes. Try All20 for 20%. Not sure if it still works though!
  9. I have a selection of spare steering parts availble after i bought steering angle sensors and pumps trying to get to the bottom of my steering problem so if you figure out what it is give me a shout and i might have the part going cheap. Turns out mine was the cable between the sensor and the pump. I got a solid steering light, emergency mode steering but a steering angle sensor fault on VAGCom.
  10. At last.......i have steering!!! After numours parts changes etc it was the cable between the power steering pump and the steering angle sensor!!! So pleased to have got to the bottom of that problem!!! Regards Jonathan
  11. Hi mate.......what's the power steering pump like mate? If ok pm me with a price. cheers
  12. Folks Just wanted clarification on something. I've had steering issues and think its the steering angle sensor. When I use vagcom and look at the measuring blocks when I turning the wheel should I get a reading for angular velocity and if so what should it be? Currently when I turn the wheel it just stays at 0.0/s. the amps increase though which to me shows that the pump is drawing current. Thanks again Jonathan
  13. I, like many, have a steering issues. First the pump packed up and failed completely. The pump was changed and worked but the steering was heavy afterwards and it appeared that the system was in limp mode. The warning light on the dash remained on and I was unable to clear the code (00816) with vag com. I've changed the alternator and the battery is good. I'm also fixed the alternator cable that snaps at the back of the gearbox so I now have a battery light on when I turn the ignition on. This leaves me with two options left. The steering angle sensor and the batter earth strap. Does anyone know the part numbers for these two parts and also do you know how I can check if I have a koyo or trw rack? Many thanks in advance. Jonto
  14. No, I don't think so, it easier just to take that passenger wheel arch out and take the undertray off. All the wiring runs underneath and behind the engine/gearbox. Good luck
  15. It's interesting you should post this as i've been on a bit of a steering problem hunt myself and we could possibly have the same issues! It started three months back when my power steering pump would work intermitently. Anyway, it eventually stopped working for good with the light constantly on. It was like this whilst i diagnosed the problem which was eventuallly resulted in a new pump being sourced and fitted. This solved the problem in that i now had power assisted steering, albeit that it was heavier than it was before. noticable heavier to be honest. The steering warning light remained on, so i then obtained a friends vagcom and tried to clear the fault codes. The problem was, the code (which i can no longer remember) came back immediately. The light is still on, i still have heavy steerring, but sometimes, when i reverse, the steering becomes incredibly light...so the pump is clearly working. Having researched the forum i noticed that alternator issues are linked to power steering issues and upon closure inspection i notice i was getting not battery warning light prior to starting the engine. Tonight i have located the infamous broken alternator sense wire and repaired it. I now get a battery warning light on igntion which goes out after the engine is started! BUT.....i still have my power steering light on which heavy steering. I've check the fuses onto of the battery and they were fine so, I'm going to check the battery voltage tomorrow but i'm begininng to think it may be the steering angle sensor........does anyone have any thoughts as i'm running out of ideas. Ideally, i'd like to run vagcom and attempt to clear the faultcodes again. Regards Jonathan
  16. Hi, had VAGCOM and tried to clear the code but it returned immediately, and yeah, the system was bled correctly. Cheers Jonathan
  17. Folks I've had a power steering pump pack up so obtained a new one and fitted it myself, however, i can not get rid of the light on the dashboard. The power steering now works but gives varying amounts of assistant. Sometimes the steering is very light and sometimes it can be heavy. Any idea? Could it be the steering sensor that fits in the rack? Also, i know sometimes there is a problem with the earth on the alternator. Does anyone have a picture of this as i can not locate it! Cheers Jonathan
  18. Hi I've had the console rear wishbone bushs done (got cupra ones) but at the time i'd booked the car in i couldn't get hold of the front wish bone bushes so agreed to get them done at a later date. I've got hold of some floflex front wishbone bushes which i am about to get fitted and wonder if it is worth while getting anything else done at the same time......like the anti roll bar bushes for example? Any thoughts? Regards Jonathan
  19. Hi Is there any kind soul in Stoke on Trent with VAG Com who wouldn't mind clearing a fault code from my Fabia Vrs? PM if so! Many thanks in advance. Regards Jonathan
  20. Hi

Do you have the power steering pump available?

    Cheers
