  1. Yes, my Dad's Gen4 Haldex packed in and required a new pump on his Yeti. He told me Skoda don't even list the filter on the Gen4 haldex as a service item. I would concede looking at the oil out the VAQ diff that it might not work as hard as a Haldex unit on a 4x4 and will really depend on the driving conditions.
  2. Changed the oil in VAQ diff. Oil looked in relatively good condition, so opted not to remove the pump to clean the filter. Straight forward for anyone that's looking to do it. Only issue is the oil going everywhere when draining the unit. Filling is easy from the top, just reach round the back of the engine and use a large syringe (I used 60ml and just stuck the end in the plug hole). Filling took about 400ml of Haldex oil and I expect it would take more if I removed the pump. Borg Warner state 600ml in one of there videos. I know there will be those who question if it's worth it. However I'm happy the diff has fresh oil after 3 years and unknown previous ownership driving conditions.
  3. Thanks, already viewed this video. Doesn't show the removing of the pump. But did find a good video showing removing the pump and cleaning on a volvo haldex. Although I plan on changing the oil in the next week, but probably won't clean the pump filter unless the oil looks bad.
  4. Sorry was meant to put similar not the same. Clutch plates and motor will operate in a similar fashion. If it fails you'd just have an open front diff.
  5. I've found out it's also the same as the Gen5 haldex unit. So I will change the oil and depending on access clean the mesh filter on the pump.
  6. That's is a question, but is sealed for life just over the waranttee period? I can't believe any oil will last for the life of a car. It clearly has a drain plug and refill plug.
  7. Just purchase a 2016 230. Looking at diff service, does anyone know what oil? Also is there a filter in the pump that needs cleaned or is it just a drain and refill. Thanks
