@NZ100 yes! I’ve never opened and closed a bonnet so much in my life after fitting these. Did you remove the original bonnet holder or have you left it there as a back up? I was going to remove mine but I ended up leaving it.

Hi all, I’ve see plenty of threads on retrofit of OEM CC however I couldn’t find anything on aftermarket CC units. Has anyone fitted a non OEM unit and if so how good and has there been any problems? Skoda UK can’t retrofit the OEM on my 2016 Octavia as it doesn’t have the Kostal steering/stalk set up. Ive had a quote for supply and fit of an aftermarket CC for £500. Any suggestions or comments welcome cheers

@NikTheGeek There are loads on eBay so many that I was concerned about not getting the right ones or a cheaper copy. I ordered from a place called Opie Oils based in Cornwall, £25.75 including postage, 350 Nm ejection force. Thanks Sasha, I guess if it’s fitted right it should be fine. I was wondering wether to leave the original on for a month or so just in case or just take it off straight away.

I know this is an old thread, that being the case has anyone that has carried out this mod had any issues with the struts, Noises, loose M8,M6 bolts etc? I’ve ordered the parts and will fit once they arrive but just wanted to know if there are any potential issues to look out for after fitting? cheers
