Old Mattress Sound
kris_kristofferson replied to kris_kristofferson's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Hi! It sounds squeaky like an old mattress when driving over speed bumps and so. I will try recording a video later and upload it. The car runs perfectly fine but the noises and creaks get on my nerves a little -

Hello All, Anyone knows why my car sounds like an old mattress when driving over bumps? Thanks!

Hello All, My engine cover is completely ruined. The insulation is gone and the plastic cover itself is coming apart. When the engine (2.0tdi) is running you can hear quite a rattle. I can remove the engine cover and be fine with that. However, I want to check the possibility of mounting a new motor cover. Can anyone share the OEM number for this specific part? Thanks!

Glovebox Aircon Knob
kris_kristofferson replied to kris_kristofferson's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Thanks guys, For the time being is fine. I have blocked the hole where the air comes out of and I am in no rush. However, it is in my to do list of repairs on the car. I think the best option should be going to a scrap yard as I think that the knob itself may not be sold separately. https://es.aliexpress.com/item/32902697263.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.273038b1BxuwCw&algo_pvid=e00d3fb6-12a0-4936-8700-71d3ee15ab37&algo_expid=e00d3fb6-12a0-4936-8700-71d3ee15ab37-2&btsid=0b0a119a15820121840127304e0ac7&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ rgs -
Coming home lights possessed
kris_kristofferson replied to Timmyboy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Since this thread's open, I wanted to hear some inputs about the coming home lights functionality. In my car the only lights on and off are the wing mirrorpuddle lights. Is that how it is supposed to work? I have the light knob turned to Auto always which as far as I know (up until reading this thread)was the only requirement to activate it. -
Glovebox Aircon Knob

I had the same unit as you and replaced it with an Xtrons unit. After replacing it, everything works as it should without any fiddling. The buttons in the steering wheel, the car status, etc. In this unit you will not need to do anything. Just remove your radio and plug the new one. Make sure to use the cables that are supplied with the Xtrons to maintain the Aux-In functionality, or amplifier, video, etc. if you were to have any. If you go for a different one like this one which I got mounted in my pre-FL Scout then you will need a fascia. I am quite happy with my unit although it has been a week or so. I am thick as a log when it comes to cabling, wiring, etc. but I had no issues. hope it helps

Glovebox Aircon Knob
kris_kristofferson replied to kris_kristofferson's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I assume that part could be standard to those cars with cooled aircon at the time ('07). I have not been to any yet. I rather was looking to find a replacement for the part online but if nothing comes of it I will have to. -
Hi, When I bought the car some 8 months ago the knob to control the cooling in the glovebox was broken. I have the knob itself but it cannot be attached at teh clipping bits that keep it in place are torn. Any chance you guys can help me find one? I´ve been looking in Aliexpress but I cannot seem to find any?

Many thanks Chris! Any idea on what the OBD's issue may be?

I'm having trouble connecting the head unit to the OBD connector from xtrons that I got together. Any explanation why? I am trying to accss the factory settings but it is pin coded which I cannot find now?
