  1. Superted - which company are you with ? Sounds like a good 'un !
  2. Always thought the OE speakers were pretty good. Not a bad idea to update the head unit though.
  3. For all you motorsport fans in the Midlands - here is a venue that really needs support I went last season (more than once) and it's a great day out. Scenery, beer, burning rubber, wandering around the paddock - what more could you want ? See http://www.shelsley-walsh.co.uk/
  4. Advanced motorcyclist ! Is this qualification relevant ?
  5. Just followed an HGV today on an A-road near Hereford - I was doing 60 and he was pulling away fast - I'd say 80 mph That's 40 over the limit - who's checking their tachos ?
  6. Hi I looked at Autofinders last week and the offer is apparently genuine : a UK supplied, new model vrs straight from a dealer at
  7. Bikes : BSA C15 (wheels weren't round) Suzuki 125 (great when I was a student ...) Triumph Trident (blew up) Kawasaki GPz 550 (crashed) Kawasaki GPz 750 (best of the lot) Kawasaki GPz 750 turbo (nutso) Cars : Cavalier 1.6 (dog slow) Astra 1.8i estate (fast and practical) Cavalier 1.7 tdi (slow) Sierra 1.8 (slow but comfortable) Sierra 2.0i GT (GT !! most misnamed car ever ?) BMW 530i V8 (fast, comfy, handles, drinks like a fish) Fabia 1.4 estate Fabia VRS arriving Friday !!!
  8. Forget Tony Pond - Get "V Four Victory" - the late great Joey Dunlop's 115mph lap
  9. Hi Graeme Just bought a pair of 1.4 16V's - hatch for the missus - liked it so much I bought an estate for myself. It's not such a big change from the BMW as you'd think, as the monster wastes most of the space it starts out with, while the fabia makes the best of what it's got. The estate's boot is the same size as the 5 series. Also - I think the Skoda handles and steers better too (the V8's have the nasty old ball- type steering box as theres no room for a rack) A funny thing - the 530 weighs 1500 kg dry and the Fab's about 1200 kg - thats less difference than I'd expected. Cheers Rick
  10. Hi Denis It's a small metal thing with windows I just part-exchanged a 530 V8 bimmer so it's a whole new world for me .... Anything that does over 20mpg has got to be good Rick
  11. Hi Another newby here - great site ! 5 minutes browsing and I already found out why the recirculate button sometimes doesn't work! I just bought a set of brand-new standard Skoda 6J x 15 alloys for my Fabia (excellent buy on ebay) What size/make of tyres would folks go for ? I'd guess 205/50's ? Thanks Rick
