  1. Really appreciate the answers - thank you! As you say I will leave for now
  2. Thanks. There are 2 advisories: Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside & Offside, Rear Bushes (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Rear Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside & Offside, Front Trail Arm Bushes (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Its confusing as the first one says "front lower... rear bushes" and the second says "rear lower ... front trail arm bushes"
  3. Excellent! Yes very similar to my car. Thank you. Mot advisory reads:"Rear Lower Suspension arm pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement Nearside & Offside, Front Trail Arm Bushes"
  4. Hi, I have found some really good tutorials on replacing the front lower suspension arms and bushes but nothing on the rear lower suspension arms. If there is one here can someone point me to it? Thank you
  5. Hi everyone, I have read through many of the posts on here to resolve remote key locking problem... unfortunately I still have an issue. Where I am in the process: - 2 keys, remote locking on one key works fine. The other key used to work and now only manually locks/unlocks - I have replaced the key battery and the red LED flashes when you push the open or lock buttons - I have tried pairing the key that isnt working - ignition on and key in the drivers door method that is described on here - the car did not beep or flash the indicators My guess is the radio transponder has given up. Before buying one I wanted to know if there is anything else I can try. Any thoughts? Thank you!
  6. Thanks for the response. Were there any specifics on the back box to make sure it fits? Or is it any sporty one for a petrol for a Fabia/Polo/Ibiza? The front bumper doesn't quite fit as it should... it is not lined up properly. I need to take it off and refit
  7. Great Idea! Thank you
  8. I am slowly building a VRS lookalike from the 1.4 16v. I really like the look of the VRS but I didnt want a diesel. So far the car has been lowered, VRS wheels, roof spoiler and front bumper. Next bit is the rear bumper. I will need to change the exhaust. Can anyone give me advise on an exhaust backbox to fit so the exhaust exit pipe comes out straight, rather than pointing down to the ground? Many thanks!
  9. Sorry I missed this and thanks for the reply. The Aircon makes a wining sounds that increases with engine speed. The aircon works fine, the noise is annoying
  10. LB123, Did you get to the bottom of the aircon module? I have the same fault code. Thanks
  11. Many thanks!
  12. Fabia 1.4 16v (100 PS): Now I have done the service the next project is a VRS front bumper. I have just acquired the bumper with the gills and lights, I need to get the number plate surround and I will ask my local body shop to paint. I am assuming (very naively) that I just unbolt the existing bumper and bolt on the new one. Has any one done this before?
  13. Finally did the service! Parts from TPS was £60 (including the VAT) - 5 liters of 5w40 quantum; oil filter; air filter; nkg spark-plugs and sump plug and all with the VW logo printed. I didn't do the cabin filter as I had replaced it recently. Service was easier than I expected. Also I didn't put high temperature anti seize lubricant on the plugs as I saw the recommendation from NKG was against it. Thanks for all the comments
  14. That was the thread I was looking at... but this is what is so brilliant about this forum... having people to check with. 5W40 it is. TPS do deal with me, so I will ask them later for all the bits
  15. Thanks for the response. I saw 10w40 on here ... not correct?
  16. Many thanks for the replies. So I need: Pollen Filter, Air Filter, Oil Filter, Plugs, Oil [I see the capacity is 3.2 liters (1.4 16v 74 KW)}, sump plug and washer... anything else? I see elsewhere on here I should use 10w40 for a 1.4 16v and that I should clean the "breather system" ... not heard that before
  17. Hi everyone! Its time for me to attempt my first service (plugs, oil, filters). Do you have to buy everything separately or can you just call, say TPS, and ask for a service kit? Thanks
