New unit fitted but since then very jerky when setting off. Dealer says no fault codes and solution is to turn off auto hold. Says all DSGs jerk when starting off. If I turn stop start off smooth set off and also smooth without auto hold. Back to Skoda UK as it wasn't like this prior to the gearbox issue.

Still no update from Skoda UK and returned from holiday yesterday expecting a hire car - and no surprise it wasn't delivered. Spent last hour trying to speak to a manager but none available! Now been promised a car within 2 hours but still waiting for someone to update me on progress with my car. I've sent an email complaint to the Managing Director of Skoda UK but not hopeful of a satisfactory response. First and last Skoda for me

Skoda UK finally responded. They told me the mechatronics unit has to be built by the factory based on my cars VIN number and takes 10 - 14 days. In other words the unit is car specific. I'm no expert but I'm not convinced. Anyone come across this?

Dealer has not been able to obtain a date for the part to arrive. I've been in touch with Skoda customer service and logged a complaint

Dealer been in touch to say mechatronics unit is on back order and can't tell me when it will arrive. They will ring me tomorrow or Wednesday with an update. Does this mean lots are going wrong and they have run out of stock? Anyone able to tell me what a mechatronics unit is please?

Thanks for the responses. It's a 7 speed but no idea if wet or dry system. The dealer is RRG Rochdale - didn't buy the car from them. Will see what I can negotiate around the extended warranty. Will let you know the outcome

I have a Edition 2l 4x4. Registered March 2018. Only done 13,000 miles. Last weekend error message came up - "error gearbox you can drive on". Took it to the dealers and have been advised it needs a new metatronics unit. Currently in a courtesy car until it can be fixed next week. My first automatic in 40 years of driving. Is this a common fault with Dsg boxes and is there anything I need to ensure the dealer does as part of the fix?
