  1. Skoda own brand..found some info. Looks like the rubber pads are just stuck to rails as been on from new .
  2. As above or rather ,how to get them off. Have keys to undo covers move side tab lift lever all moves away from rail but can't lift bars off Are there hidden fittings.cant find enything about these on Internet. Slightly baffled by these. Now 2 skoda,s in the family

Further on with the Saga of rear wiper unit.1st one sent out was or had been dropped bad nasty copy sent back ,2nd I got from Germany even checked vin,sweeped once everytime I started car then died.so slightly better crap copy, 3rd time luck from another UK supplier. Looked OK. Doesn't fit by miles so that's going back and hopefully tomorrow will pick up a so called genuine one from nearest skoda main stealers.£83 plus vodka and ttonic.wiring been checked but i bey it's not right

  5. Also apart from wiper not working at all now ,the number plate lights light up when I start car then go off and come on with heated rear window aswell.all fuses are fine too
  6. Checked all wiring in tailgate and through the hinge bellows all OK.ive just had delivery of new wiper motor unit but I'm having an auto electrician check it tomorrow as I'm sure it's more than just the wiper motor is duff.unless motor earth's though its mounts,have this feeling I've a gremlin
  7. 2011 vrs combi.intermitant fault on rear wiper stops for abit then goes again motor is buzzing too. Today my rear number plate lamps glow when I open tailgate and don't work when I turn lights on and lamp fault on dash,would duff wiper cause this or would it be a wiring fault further back. Both bulbs are OK getting 0 volts when lights on and tailgate shut when open 3.5 volts so bulbs glow abit

Interesting, I'd just noticed increase of whine sort of noise.then when I had the intake air leak code come up I also had 2nd clutch below tolerance show up.dsg working perfectly as it should at moment .quote I've ha shows 450 labour .595 clutch pack .75 adaptive drive.463 duel mass flywheel.plus Vodafone and tonic
  9. Come to think of it I didn't know DSG had a duel mass flywheel ,only knew it had two clutch plates

  11. Local independent skoda audi specialist. Theve not road tested it .just asked for qoute as had 2nd clutch plate low code come up
  12. After much prodding and packing thoughts were leaky injector seal,once stripped it turned out to be failed intake manifold gasket on my 2011 vrs 1.4 .so not so expensive to sort. On the other had I've 1 dsg clutch low so clutch kit needed and prob flywheel cars done 76.000 been quoted £1899 to replace and set up .is that average or too much I know clutch pack kit is 545 ish does it always need duel mass aswell .cars running perfect gears perfect just a tad whiny at low speeds with window open lol

  14. As I thought had put her to paddles before now to keep her in gear as the slightest loose surface she will light up, I'll see what she's like with tc off, I've alot of gravel and crappy roads where I am always does it pulling out specially if having to do in a hurry

On a rear wheel drive we used to call it axle tramp or hop when you really let her put power down and it needs more help to stop wheel hopping and loosing traction now I've not had this on a front wheel drive car before, if I let rip out of a junc she brakes traction and clonks or judders drivers side only time it does it are all vrs like this do they need upgraded springs or coilovers to really put the power down as fronts so light or are my shocks shot, ha ha
  16. I've run the forge set up for about 8mths noticeable pick up over standard but she's stage 1.haven't decided to move filter closer to intake yet
  17. Keep thinking monte black grill and black lights on my vrs can't make my mind up
  18. In a perfect world as its the front I'd put a pair of new tyres on, not good to mix and match, unless it's same as other side and nearly same tread depth
  19. Tool I had was wrong one for plastic caps I had, few were missing so got a complete new set with correct puller for £15
  20. My 2011 59000 mile fabia vrs water pump gave up, it had had a new engine 2 years back recon they stuck all the parts of old eng back on as I've already replaced turbo thought supercharger had given up the noise it made had noticed a small drop in coolent but no leak, so £688 later all sorted goi ng better than ever, over complicated set up, just shows you never know, ps had advisories on all brake discs after just having new mot when I bought her I always renew or upgrade them when i buy a car for daily use
  21. Yep done some research, a known fault with all vag cars, circuit faults led dies, sometime whole dash just die, repairs are about £150 I'll have a look when at some point, not a big problem at moment unless it gets worse
  22. Still enjoy this daft thing, but expecting it to throw its toys out the pram, 900 miles on replacement turbo all good, was going to put some sticky tyres on to stop the scrabble but thought I'd prob break gearbox so left well alone
  23. Right tacho needle illumination died,? Easy fix or is it whole binicle out and put in bin job. Never had a car that's so brittle since I had a alfa in the 70s 🤣
