I’ve had a reoccurring problem for the past two years now. The car will show the engine light (p2108, throttle actuator control module performance), then a couple of days later the car won’t start (I can get it to start by manually pushing the air control flap). When the problem first happened, I took the car to the garage and they replaced the air control flap (the part next to the egr that looks like a throttle body.) The car worked for a couple of months, then the unit got bunged up again and the same thing happened. I have since had the unit replaced 4 times and the same thing always happens (also costs a lot of money - £200 pounds a piece). I also had the engine decarbonised, and the egr replaced (again, this fixed it for a few weeks and then the problem reoccurred). I’ve now started to just clean the unit whenever the engine light comes on, but don’t want to keep on doing this forever. Every mechanic just tells me I need a new air control flap, but I know for a fact that the problem will reoccur. Any ideas on what the roots of the problem may be.

New bolt needed - not sure what size?

I reckon your right, cheers mate 👍🏻 -
My mechanic replaced the air intake flap. When putting back on, they missed out one of the bolts (this is no longer here) and cross threaded the other, so the bolt cannot tighten. As a result I’m having to replace the egr valve, but need to replace the bolts that attach the air intake flap to the egr (only need the shorter ones, the long one is fine) does anyone know what size the bolt is, or could anyone suggest somewhere that would have the bolt I need?

My fabia vrs 2006 idles too high (about 1200rpm), if you tap the throttle, it goes down a bit, but comes back again shortly. I had a look on here and it said it might be the throttle position module, but can't seem to find one for sale anywhere. Has it got an alternative name? Also, the other day, the engine management warning light and the electronic stability control light came on. The car went into limp mode and seemed as if the throttle had stopped working all together. This lasted a day, and is now fine. This also happened once before about 3 months ago. A reader shows no codes, so no clue how to go about fixing it. Any seggestions?
