  1. Thanks. The fault was repaired by the owner before me. All I know was the it was a fault with the Lane Assist but not what the specific fault was. Will get them to give it a full checkover and request they look at what the previous fault was as it should be on their central records I would hope.
  2. Thanks for the comments. I'll ask the garage to have a quick look to see the seats are behaving properly when the car is in getting the Lane Assist fixed.
  3. Thanks to both above. Seems I'm stuck with it. Just seems weird that you can connect your phone via BT for calls, tunes etc but not to do what I want. Had heard the Infortainment isn't quite up to par with traffic so will carry on with Waze. Will go over to Amazon now to check out a 12V/USb adapter. Cheers Steve
  4. I'm glad this post has provoked lively debate thus far. I'd worked out the accelerator tap to go back into coast. It just seems a bit unnecessary which is probably just me being a bit lazy. I can't quite say the engine is screaming at 2500-3000RPM when the gearbox goes down a notch or two on a hill but it disturbs an otherwise smooth ride. Guess I will have to invoke the above manoeuvre or live with it. And Ricardo, I take your point; however, buying the car damn near made me broke and no point in using fuel unnecessarily. Most of my drive is on the M1 during rush hour, so even on Sport mode, it's not going to be as enthralling as a lap at the Nurburgring.
  5. Question 4 (last one for now) The Lane Assist is not operational. It was fixed just before I bought the car but has gone again after I've had the car for a couple of weeks. Does this point to system problems on my car or is Lane Assist often unreliable? I really like the feature as I do 100 miles a day mainly on motorways. I've only got 6 months left on warranty and don't want this to be an ongoing issue that I will be landed a bill for when the warranty expires. Ta Steve
  6. Question 3: I would not of personally chose them as an option but the car has ventilated front seats. I've never had them on a car before and have been distinctly underwhelmed. I did not expect it to feel like I was laying on a bed of ice and they do make my back marginally less hot but it's not really very noticeable. Is this as good as they get or could the seats be faulty? Cheers Steve
  7. Question 2: I am trying to driving on ECO mode and like the slip into Neutral the gearbox makes when I am coasting on the motorway. However, I've noticed that when going downhill the auto gear box uses the engine to break and slips down a gear or two resulting in the RPM going over 2500 to slow the car down. It's a grating noise with the RPM runs that high and is spoiling my fuel economy whilst feeling completely unnecessary on the road gradients I am using. Is there a way to turn this off? Cheers Steve
  8. Hi folks I'm new to the world of Skoda and have recently bought a two year old Kodiaq. I'm about 2000 miles in after my first month and love the car so far but I've a few niggling things I'm hoping you'll advise on. I'll post them separately for the sake of clarity. So, number 1: It appears that for Apple Car Play to work it has to be connected via the USB charging cable. I am surprised it cannot be done over Bluetooth. I don't want to plug the cable in as it is messy and I am forever charing my new iPhone which will knacker the battery eventually. I am using Car Play as I continuously use Waze when driving as the inbuilt Sat Nav doesn't have live traffic data and is therefore fairly useless. Am I missing something or is there some work around to get Waze displayed on screen via Bluetooth? Or is there a way to get reliable live traffic to the inbuilt Sat Nav? Oh, and why are there at least three 12V chargers around the car and only one USB that I can see? 12Vs are fairly obsolete now with most everything running on USB. Thanks Steve
