- Please help me!!
Well I thought it was, I can’t remember which side I levered up though. I have heard of other people removing the gear gaiter and reaching it from underneath though. like most bits of plastic in cars, some seems to pop out without any bother, some shatters in your hands if you’re not careful 😂- Please help me!!
Hahaha - I hoped nobody would quote me as I realised later I was thinking about the central locking button as my old 1.4tdi pd1 didn’t have heated seats....(Or much else) There was no orange bricks when I was a kid. Black; white, red, blue, yellow....and I think grey if bought a train set 😂 I’ve used that brick separator loads lately though, it’s dead handy.- Please help me!!
I managed to prise mine out of my old Fabia fairly easily using an orange lego brick seperator. In fact, I keep one in the car, it's quite handy, far less harsh than a screwdriver.- Amundsen Upgrade
@Rustynuts has just fitted an Amundsen+ with all the bells and whistles to my Fabia. Top bloke.- Removing dents from bumper
I can probably live with the dents for the moment, the rest of the car is virtually dent free (a couple of very hard to spot ones), it's probably the worst part of the car, and something I didn't notice at all when I was buying it lol. I might have a go with a heat gun and something behind to massage the dents a little. We'll see.- Looking to install head unit with apple carplay
In full agreement with @UrbanPanzer on the Chinese rubbish. I've just swapped out this (Chinese rubbish).... For this (Skoda Amundsen+).... And it really is like night and day. The Chinese unit was buggy, clunky, prone to crashing, had some awful counter intuitive menus, some questionable functions, and generally just felt awful to use, cheap and nasty. The Skoda unit works smoothly, and does everything it's supposed to. Neither unit was new enough to have Carplay mind. +1 on avoiding Chinese rubbish.- Removing dents from bumper
Yeah, I might give one of them a go, I've fancied adding one to my toolkit for a while....I have a seperate box for stuff that rarely ever gets used lol.- Removing dents from bumper
The centres, probably not much bigger than the width of a biro, maybe 5p sized in total- Removing dents from bumper
Yeah, I had a feeling they might be a bit too ‘tight’ to respond to this method.- Like a numpty I’ve knackered my interior light
Aha, I'll have a hunt around in the car for it....if I find it, I'll bung my light (or the replacement when it arrives) on eBay lol.- Removing dents from bumper
Hi folks, my car hasn't got many dents, but it has a smattering of small dings on the back bumper. Perhaps a previous owner was doing the Italian parking technique of bumper nudging or something lol. These are mostly small circular prod marks. I've read up on various techniques to remove them, including them popping out with a kettle of boiling water, and heating them up with a heat gun and gently pressing them from behind with a rounded object like a screwdriver handle. I'm just wondering if anyones had any success removing small dings from bumpers.- Like a numpty I’ve knackered my interior light
Yeah quite possibly, always worth a go.- Like a numpty I’ve knackered my interior light
I've managed to find a dark grey one from a guy breaking a Fabia on one of the Facebook groups. Costing me £32 delivered mind....I guess the extra is down to the relative rarity compared to the light grey ones. I did try offering him £20, but he clearly knows they're worth a little more lol.- Both tail lights not working
Cheeky monkey 😂- Both tail lights not working
Yeah, like I say it was a quick visual inspection rather than a full on test. Bulbs would have been the next thing to swap had the fuse not done the trick. luckily all is well now....I can go out at night again 😂- Both tail lights not working
Impatience and clumsiness 😂 I’ll know for next time- Both tail lights not working
Bingo 😂- Both tail lights not working
Yep, fuse 23 it was. Cheers @UrbanPanzer- Both tail lights not working
I think we might be onto something here. the DRLs on mine are in the front fog lights, and according to the manual on a separate fuse. They’re fine....but.... .....I see the sidelights are on the same fuse (23) as the interior light....and what was I fiddling with yesterday? The interior light to fit the microphone for the hands free. Odd how there’s no mention of the tail lights being on this fuse in the manual. Anyway, I recall yesterday not long after I had done my best Homer Simpson impression and broken the switch off the interior light (doh), the reading lights (is that what they’re called?) went dimmed for a while, then went back to full brightness. I’ve had a look today, and they’re dimmed again, checked the sidelights again and lo and behold they’re now not working. Checked fuse 23 and it’s slightly charred looking, it doesn’t look broken, but it doesn’t look too healthy. I’m going to hazard a guess that’s the culprit. I’m off to my local car parts shop to pick up a couple of spare fuses and see what happens. Cheers @UrbanPanzer I would never have known they were both on the same fuse if you hadn’t mentioned it. Wish me luck.- Both tail lights not working
No test, just a visual. They look fine from what I can tell. I’ll be swappIng them out later today if I can, that’ll be the test 🙂- Both tail lights not working
Yep they are. And from what I can tell (although I didn't walk round the front of the car, just judged from the light being cast on the house), sidelights and headlights are working fine too.- Both tail lights not working
Hi all, this evening this appeared on the dash.... On inspection my tail lights aren’t working. Brake lights are fine, indicators are fine etc. The bulbs for the tail lights look fine from what I can tell. Either I’m blind or can I hell as like find a fuse for the tail lights. I can find one for the brake lights (and it’s fine), but not one for the tail lights. Help! 😂- Like a numpty I’ve knackered my interior light
I can't really see it from that photo to be honest, have you a link to the eBay item?- Like a numpty I’ve knackered my interior light
As per description. Fitting a hands free microphone I’ve been a bit rough removing the light and the slider for the interior light has gone somewhat floppy (oh my)....I can’t see any additional bits on the floor and can’t don’t seem to be able to figure out what I’ve done. Any ideas folks? (I will add that I may have replaced that brass piece upside down, I’m not sure which way it goes) - Please help me!!
