  1. Never used my heated screen, simply because you still need to de-ice all the side windows anyway, the other thing I didn't like about it was that it caused reflection with the dashboard.
  2. I had the same problem so I kept the space saver as well as this SLIME 50129 Flat Puncture Repair, Emergency Kit, Includes Sealant and Tyre Inflator Pump, Suitable for Cars and Other Highway Vehicles, 10 min fix
  3. Many many places do charge £54.85 or the appropriate cost for the class of vehicle. Often where there is no competition from other testing stations. & people / businesses can make money / profits / a living doing MOT's honestly. (Then some like to run them as a front, as around Glasgow...) As a front nit really sure what you mean. Drugs money? Each and every MOT station's tests are logged, so the income must surely be the same as the levels of MOT test carried out. If you are talking about drugs, it's usually a car wash all cash no cards
  4. I believe that some garages who do repairs and change tyres will discount the cost ogf the MOT to have the chance of making more money from so called needed repairs.
  5. I took it to a testing station that do not do repairs
  6. Thank you for the replies, Its not as bad as I thought, any idea about the under covers and sill fitted comment?
  7. MOT Passed but with the following. What does it mean?
  8. OK so will the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 245/45 R18 100Y XL J Fit my 2017 Superb?
  9. I have a Skoda superb 2lt petrol, currently fitted with 235/45 R18 93W Pirelli tyres . I am wanting to fit some 245 I need to find out the correct rim size, according to a chart I have seen, I believe they are 8" Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 245/45 R18 100Y XL J Can anyone here confirm that the size of the size of the rims are 8"? Can anyone tell me if the Goodyear tyres will fit? In other words can I co from a 235 to a 245 As per the chart below Any help/comments appritited. Rim width (inch) Min. tire width (mm) Ideal tire width (mm) Max. tire width (mm) 5,0 155 165 or 175 185 5,5 165 175 or 185 195 6,0 175 185 or 195 205 6,5 185 195 or 205 215 7,0 195 205 or 215 225 7,5 205 215 or 225 235 8,0 215 225 or 235 245
  10. I can get a much quieter tyre but it is only available in a 245, I just need to know will it fit.
  11. The tyres I have fitted are 235, can I replace them with 245 using the same rim? If so I will order the tyres recommended by Carlston I think my rims are 8 inch? According to this chart I would be at my maximum, would this be a problem? Rim width (inch) Min. tire width (mm) Ideal tire width (mm) Max. tire width (mm) 5,0 155 165 or 175 185 5,5 165 175 or 185 195 6,0 175 185 or 195 205 6,5 185 195 or 205 215 7,0 195 205 or 215 225 7,5 205 215 or 225 235 8,0 215 225 or 235 245
  12. I understand that it's the BD noise is heard from the outside of the car however I reasoned that the less noise outside would also mean the less noise would be heard inside? The tyres I have fitted are pirelli cinturato p7 and are rated at 70db. There is nothing wrong with them (loads of life in them, I am only changing them because of the noise. Should I go ahead? at a cost of £300 fitted, is it worth changing them or should I wait for the B pillars to be done and see how it goes?
  13. Thank you They seem to be 68bd? The Hankook are listed as 67bd
  14. Debica? never heard of those? where would I find them? Thank you
  15. 235/-45-R18 94w
  16. Just booked my Skoda superb into have the B pillars soundproofed (thank you to dogfish for the advise and video clip) i've already done the boot including the tyre well and rear wings . I need to identify some quite tyres to complete the job. The idea is to replace the factory fitted rear tyres. I have so far been able to find Hankook tyres 67 db priced at £125 + vat each Can anyone here recommend anything better/cheaper but moor importantly quieter? Thank you
  17. Yes I do sometimes?
  18. As I said in my original post, I already had the boot bone with silent coat with the addition on a sound deadening mat under the boot mat. I had a look at the B pillar and seen the word air bag and thought better of it. It looks like a complicated job to me. Thank you for the advise it really helps.
  19. Ahhh I see I have had the doors done but not the B pillar however the noise seems to be emanating from the rear, even when I'm sitting in the back seat? Do you think I should have the pillars done? Can anything be done with the cills? Thank you
  20. Thank you for the reply Yes I understand that the db level is rated from outside however if something is noisier outside it is usually heard more inside in the same way as a waggon going past your house that is fitted with double glazing will be heard less than an electric car. As I have tried everything else, the only option is to change tyres or soundproof the exterior. There is an option for soundproof ing the exterior wheel arch with a spray. this is the link, has anyone used it? https://www.buzzweld.co.uk/lizardskin-sound-deadening.html
  21. Anyone used this? https://www.buzzweld.co.uk/lizardskin-sound-deadening.html
  22. I have had soundproofing carried out to the boot, rear tyre well, wheel arches, all four door panels however I am still getting noise from the rear of the car. Its a kind of whistle as though the door seals have gone (had the door seals checked at main dealer, they are fine) If I am driving on a concrete type of motorway I can hear the noise however if I go over a tarmac section the noise dissipates by over50%. This is lead be to believe that its either tyre noise and-or exterior wheel arch noise. I am having hancook 67bd tyres fitted on Tuesday, the ones I have fitted at the moment are 70db. Is it worth me asking the tyre fitter to remove the canvas material above the wheel and using some kind of sound deadening spray or silent coat on the exterior wheel arches or would it fall off due to damp? Thank you
  23. The one common denominator is that mine has never opened when its in a faraday pouch, so I presume that something is activating he fob.
  24. The thing is whenever its happened to mine there is also no audible bleeps either. I was leaning into the boot one time when it was already opened and it started to shut on me and I don't have auto boot closure?
  25. How many keys do you have? Try using a different key if you have more than one or buy a small faraday pouch and keep the key in it in your pocket. Can you not get the virtual foot pedal disabled, if you think that is causing the problem?
