  1. Hi there, As it says all newcomers are welcome, can I suggest you let the bar staff know where you will be sitting? I went along to my first Maidstone meet on Friday evening on my own (I had planned to go with a mate who's been a few times before but he couldn't make it in the end) and saw several Briskoda members' cars in the car park but despite asking several staff behind the bar, they knew nothing of a Car Club meeting taking place. I even went round at least half a dozen tables inside and outside asking if any of them were Briskoda members but other than getting some smart alec comments back, nobody could point me in your direction. Having never been to the White Rabbit before, I didn't realise how big a venue it is. If I had known how difficult it would be to find the Briskoda "table", I would have posted on the forum asking you to look out for me (mine was the only Furby vRS SE in the car park) to save me the hassle. I would certainly suggest to any newcomers that they post on the forum before going to make sure at least one of the regulars looks out for you to ensure a welcome is extended. Shame I didn't get to meet up with those that went. I couldn't make the July meeting as I was working at Silverstone on the British Grand Prix and can't make the September meet either as I am competing on a Historic Rally in Belgium. Might try again for the October meeting. Will make sure I post beforehand as I don't fancy another "Billy No-mates" experience.
  2. Can't praise this dealer highly enough. Having been let down by my local (SE England) dealer over my order for a vRS SE, I found one for sale here. The deal was agreed over the phone and I advised my insurer who promised to send the insurance certificate to them direct. When I was about to leave Kent the next week to drive up and collect the car, the salesman rang to say the insurance still hadn't arrived. The dealer offered to drive into central Birmingham and collect the paperwork from the insurer on my behalf so that it was taxed and all ready to collect later that afternoon. I've even had a follow up courtesy call from the salesman after 2 weeks to check I'm happy with the car. 10 out of 10. Wish my local dealer was this efficient and helpful...
  3. Well first of all a huge thanks to this site for helping me track down my new vRS SE. Two weeks ago, I was let down by my local dealer, who it turned out couldn't supply the car I'd paid a deposit for back in April! Following some posts on the forum, I tracked down a fantastic dealer in the West Midlands with a couple of vRS SE's left. Agreed the deal that same Friday night and arranged for insurance details to be sent to them in time to collect the following Thursday. On the day itself, I was just about to leave Kent to collect the car on my way to a business trip when the dealer rang to say the insurance still hadn't arrived. Turns out it hadn't even been posted so I arranged for the insurer (big name with a red phone) to get the original documents to their Central Birmingham office for collection later that same day. Amazingly, the dealer offered to drive into the city centre (20miles away) to collect the certificate themselves so it wouldn't delay my business trip. Arrived at their showrooms at 4.00 and in under 30mins I was setting off up the M6 with a huge grin on my face. Well done to the team at Autosales Bilston - I can't praise them highly enough. And thanks again to this forum for the excellent info and advice.
  4. How sh1te has the allocation of these cars been? I ordered mine at the end of March and paid my dealer the deposit. I was provisionally given the end of April as the expected delivery date. My company sold my previous company car ready for the vRS to arrive.........deafening silence from the dealer. Apparently I am 6th in the queue out of the 8 cars they'd been allocated. For two months they kept being told by Skoda UK I'd have to wait a bit longer. Finally, I rang Head Office and had a call back today from Skoda Customer Service (what service?) to say my dealer won't be getting the last two cars!!! So my order is cancelled and I get my deposit back but no vRS SE ( Not the sort of birthday surprise I was hoping to receive this weekend... Am now frantically ringing round to see who has stock available. One or two good leads on this forum, that I am following up. The forum's been far more informative that Skoda. Just imagine how great their company could be if it was run by Briskoda members!!!
