  1. Update from me,, I sold number 618 back in 2010. But I've come back to the fold and bought 488 last week (Aberdeen, Scotland)
  2. I've got some vrs wheels, that 3 are in really good condition, one has some kurbing, but nothing a DIY refurb wouldn't sort.

and without tyres, I'll sell them for ?165 POSTED! - but since I've seen on the post you left a comment on the tyres are illegal anyways I dont think this will make a difference.

let me know what you think.

    cheers.

  3. I love my Vrs for long journeys .Just eats up the miles far too easy ,,,thats it now needing its 20k service - its only 13 months old !!
  4. Mull !? ,,,you must have found the JC hard then ? ,,,,all those 200 sm/c 200 and a 750 !? ,,,no such luxury's on Mull eh ? apart from passing the phonebox !? We did Mull last year and I navigated there 2004 and 2005 14:29 !? ,,,you wisna hanging about !? un-lucky about your engine though ,,hope you get it sorted ok
  5. oops ,,,no that wasn't me in that car ,,,we're at the other end of the "food" chain here's some links for the footage
  6. bummer !! ,,what car were you in ? -There's some very good on-board footage from the Octavia on the British Rally Forum ,,british stage rallying section ,, Jim Clark thread P32/33 area We were lucky , we managed to get around the JC National stages without any major issues,,,a few over shoots on the 90's that had gravel on them :Obut that was about it -really good event,,hope to do it again next year
  7. I've got an Se and wanted to darken the ft windows slightly more to make the rear ones less obvoius. I ask a traffic cop that I often come onto contact with the job that I was in what the score was, as he was the official "tint man" in the traffic dept in Aberdeen. He said that the Vrs car has a slight tint on the ft windows and adding the lightest tint to it would then make it illegal !
  8. Just in case anyones interested , I spotted the very last Vrs Se (number 1000 ) on Monday night out side Inverurie at Thainstone auction mart (15miles from Aberdeen ).
  9. Well I've just not long fitted a Bilstein handling kit which lowered the front 30mm and the rear 20mm from what the std 100tdi sat at (i measured the ride heights before and after ). The car looks really good now and on the whole is very nice to drive ,doesn't lift or dive on the front anymore . The only complaint I have is when I driving "briskly" on the "back roads"in my area ,on bad bumps it seems to bottom out on the damper/ bumpstops. I seriously thinking about taking off the H & R springs and trying the car on std VRS springs. If it wasn't for the fact that we'll need to use my 100 tdi to do the recce for the Tour of Mull rally and some road rallys later on in the year I'd probably leave them on. I'll probably fit the H & R's onto the SE for the wife . I can't believe how well the Fabia handles after having had a 2.0 zetec Focus for 3 1/2 yrs,,,ok , I've fitted the handling kit , cupra wishbone bushes and a set of std Vrs wheels but its really a good handling car ! Ft ride height 615mm - from w/arch to ground on std Vrs wheels n tyres Rear " " 625mm " "
  10. I was thinking that maybe the Vrs one would suit better because I'm lowering the suspension ?
  11. - sorry ! ,,, Fabia 5dr hatch ,its 2001 model Elegance but I'm replacing all the suspension with a Bilstein susp kit. , Garry
  12. As the title says, I'm needing the part number for the rear bumpstops. I don't know if they're all the same of whether the Vrs or Cupra ones are different/better ? -I found the part numbers for the front ones along with the wishbone bushes on Vrs Stu's site (cheers ) . I don't have much faith in parts dept's these days for getting the right bits Cheers ,Garry
  13. I'm thinking that Bilstein maybe prefered the spring poundage/suspension drop of the H&R's to go with their dampers ? ,,,I will let you know how it feels once its all fitted. I'm fitting new top mounts, bearings and bumpstops at the same time. Yes, your quite right Lummox its not a Vrs , its a big 100 bhp tdi Elegance model with the puny 18mm ft arb . I picked up the std 20mm Vrs arb when I bought the engine. I'm not a lover of big arb's on the front of fwd cars but given the weight of the diesel engine ,it needs to be bigger than 18mm ! - hmmm ,rally car ? We (the wife and me) rally a Citroen Ax ,,,,YES ! a Citroen AX !, ,,its far from std brief spec; 1360 engine ,head and cam ,motorbike tb's ,DTA ecu, 4-2-1 ,straight cut close ratio Dogbox and LSD ,up-rated shafts ,custom 4 pot brakes , 2-way adjustable Mono-tube front and rear suspension with remote canisters ,PAS from a saxo fabricated to fit with home made adjustable settings , Stack rev counter with built in shift lights. The engine has been limited to 8100 rpm to help keep it reliable ! This car was built by myself in my drive way ,used for hillclimbs and sprints in 2005 and I won the class. I then built it into a rally car for 2006 and we won the class 1 in the Scottish Tarmac rally championship with my WIFE driving ! So far this year we've had one 3rd place due to gearbox problems and having to use a std box with NO lsd !:thumbdwn: and three 1st places in class 1,,,the last one was yesterday sorry for rambling on ,,but you did ask cheers ,Garry
  14. Well thats my suspension kit arrived this morning I ordered the kit from Proven Products on Tuesday afternoon/evening Very good service as well as price -
  15. So whats the price going to be then ? (sorry ,But I'm from north of the border ) , Garry
