  1. Hi all Bit of advice if possible please: Had an EML come on: no loss of power or anything obvious: got the fault codes read, and apart from No4 Glow Plug open circuit, I had P021000-Throttle valve position sensor, implausible signal. Having read another article on here, I ventured under the bonnet, stripped out the throttle valve assembly and cleaned out a heap of carbon/ soot and a bit of oil debris. Put it all back together, which was easy enough apart from wrestling the flexible hose from the intercooler pipe back into position.... The car pulls better and is noticeably smoother. The engine management light (unsurprisingly, as I haven't got a reader capable of interrogating the Yeti's ECU to clear the faults) stayed illuminated. Two days later, I started the car and the EML has gone out and stayed out. Is this something that happens after a couple of hot / cold cycles - assuming the fault has bee cleared? I'm curious.
  2. Hi folks I'm a recent retiree... just moved to the beautiful Welsh County of Pembrokeshire after 50-odd years of living and working in the English Midlands. This is my third Skoda...previous cars being a 1984 Estelle and a 2010 Octavia SE. I've been in a company car for the last few years - I worked for British Car Auctions as a territory based vehicle inspector- and always had a bit of a soft spot for the Yeti, so after setting a budget and looking around, I found my Yeti! She's a 2012 2.0 TDI Urban in Candy White. One previous owner, FSH and very well looked after. I've enjoyed putting a few miles on her over the last couple of weeks: the most recent trip being a 600 mile round trip to South Devon. I'm impressed with the ergonomics and happy with the fuel consumption: an average of 54mpg-and I wasn't driving like Miss Daisy. The car wants for nothing, but there are a couple of minor mods I want to do over the coming weeks. I shall be rummaging through the forums to see who's done what! I shall contribute if I feel I have something to add. I've spent the last 16 years in the vehicle leasing and disposal industry: if anyone has any questions or queries that they think I may be able to help with (Fair wear and tear appraisals, how to buy at auction...that sort of thing...) then please feel free to ask!
