Looking to buy a VRS Petrol
Yea i guess if it was leather you where after then the pfl is the way to go. I've had to look actually at a fabric sealent for the seats just incase. Yea the bixenons are brilliant as well. Still much better than most cars.

I dont think in pictures the difference is that apparent. Its just a bit more refined. Its a nice place to be, don't get me wrong the pfl is really nice and I had been looking at them but thought the seats looked better with the alcantara seats and like @DC04R says better head unit. I think the headlights in the pfl are xenon apposed to the led matrix. They are awesome, can see the whites of other drivers eyes as the swear at you 🤣

Do you find theres alot more noise with the wind deflectors? I was thinking about it but not sure. Anybody else had experience of putting them on and noticing alot more wind noise?

Yea by all means everybody on here has their opinions of what they prefer and if you can get a personal loan at a good interest rate 👌 brilliant do that and get the car that suits you. Good thing is you can do what you want and not worry about anything when it comes back to handing back time like me. Personally though atthe moment 245 bhp is more than enough power and enjoyment for me.

I started off with the plan of buying outright but when I applied for the loan the interest rate wasn't what they had said online 51% of people needed to get and I would have ended up paying 80 pound a month more than I had planned so pcp was the way I decided to go. Ended up getting a 2 year extended warranty so worked out well enough for me.

I can't comment on the sound isolation but I am led to believe and smarter people than me will be along to correct me if I'm wrong, the dsg on the 245 is 7 gears instead of 6 but also different turbo and new engine inners. Like I say thats about as technical as I can get but someone will be along soon with more info. Also I'm probably biased but I prefer the meteor grey 😄

Looking to buy a VRS Petrol
I had the same dilemma with the money aspect but I found that the other cars in the price pool where a couple years older and there wasn't as much space in it as in the vrs.

I was in exactly the same position as you where a few months ago. That said I had been looking for a new car for about the past year since the better half and myself where expecting. I started off with your budget in mind but realised what I wanted spec wise and price wasn't realistic. In NI anyway. I had the same dilemma go for a 230 or go for the 245. I went for the 245 and I'm glad I did ive had mine for 2 weeks now and I love it. Its the dsg and is a joy to drive. In regards to the 19s and ride quality, I dont find it bad at all. I would wait as kenai suggests and get one of the 36 month lease and pcps. I actually think I had looked at the red one myself and thought it was really nice. Try and take one for a drive and see what you think.

Replacement DSG gear knob?
I would be very interested in the outcome of this. Mine is the same. Can they be replaced under warranty if they are peeling away I wonder? 🤔

Got the car yesterday evening, thought it was plain sailing until my tyre pressure warning light came on. Stopped to check the pressures to find they had fitted a 225/40zr19 instead of the 225/35r19s. Had to go back up this morning to get it resolved and was told to keep the tyre and got a free boot mat. Issue being on my way to work the light came back on. Hopefully just needs reset after the new tyre was put on. But other than that loving it. The dsg is excellent and coming from a 1.5 manual focus its a massive step up in performance. Bit of a marmite colour and needs a good clean but I love it 😀

Awk thats a nightmare. Yea the only thing its missing i thing is dcc which you could wait months for and then it be out of my price range so hopefully I won't regret it not having it. Ill post some pictures in a few days when I get it, then start adding bits too it. Anybody fitted wind deflectors to them? Any issues with added wind noise that would be annoying?

2017 octavia vrs 245, advice needed

2017 octavia vrs 245, advice needed
Yea it did but she ended up getting the money that she paid back and she went privately elsewhere. You know I actually emailed about that earlier, there is a provisional agreement on it pending finance matters. I'm free to look at it though. I was already going up to the same place about a red estate at midday so sent an email about that. Ill be honest I'm not bothered over estate or hatch but what I am unsure about is manual or dsg. I've driven a gtd manual and a gti dsg and preferred the dsg so I assume it'll be the same with the vrs.
