  1. Collected mine on the 14th (last Friday). Absolutely love the car Thanks to everyone on here for the help and advice. J
  2. UPDATE: Collecting my new car on Friday afternoon (couldn't do it on Wednesday of this week due to work commitments). Woohoo !
  3. Got confirmation from stealer last week that my Octi was released for shipping 26th April. Hopefully I should have it in the next 2 weeks
  4. I ordered a 1.4TSI DSG Elegance estate end of Feb and it was released for shipment on the 26th of April. I'm expecting it sometime in the next 2 weeks. Im guessing its the engine thats causing the delay ? Hope you get better news soon. J
  5. I better contact my stealer then as I ordered a few days before you - a 1.4TSI Elegance Estate DSG and was told it wasnt being built until w/c 25th April. I may be lucky
  6. I hope so - I would love to get it before the 3rd of May as I have a holiday planned (400 miles of driving) which I planned to use to shake down the car. Obviously my bookings etc are all made and I cant change then - just means clocking up mileage on my trade in if the new Octy doesnt turn up early :(
  7. Similar story to me, ordered 1.4TSI DSG Elegance Estate on 21st Feb and confirmed with dealer today currently being built w/c 25th April so expected mid May. Oh well.
  8. Surely thats only on the S and SE. The Jan brochure still lists "Variable boot floor (Estate only)" as standard equipment ?
  9. I ordered an Octavia Elegance Estate mid Feb and at the time was told by the dealer the spec was as per the brochure (01/2010). Since ordering I asked them to double check the mirrors and variable boot floor were standard and was told yes they should be. Eventually got the bulletin number from this forum and emailed it to them and it turns out they hadnt noticed the chances in the bulletin concerning the folding mirrors. Suffice to say they are now contacting Skoda UK to try and work something out for me. Hoping they can add them to the car (at no extra cost) as its scheduled for build week 16. J
  10. Thanks for all the comments etc. Finally settled on:- Octavia Estate 1.4TSI Elegance (DSG) in Metallic Cappuccino 3 spoke steering wheel with stereo controls / Maxidot / paddles Sunset Glass Spare Wheel Went a little more than I intended but reasonably happy with the deal etc. Cheers J
  11. When it arrives (hopefully in April)... Variant:: Elegance Engine: 1.4TSI Transmission: DSG Hatch or Estate: Estate Colour: Cappucino Beige Extras: 3 spoke Steering wheel with paddles, stereo controls and maxidot, tinted rear windows, spare wheel and all the usual kit. Mods to date: none
  12. Hi all I ordered a new Octavia Estate last week and as far as my dealer is concerned the spec is as per the Skoda Q1 brochure he has in the showroom and the PDF from the website (I have copies of both). I emailed him to check on the mirrors and the rumour about the variable boot floor (mentioned this thread and Skoda UKs response) and he says they haven't been told anything about this. Guess I'll need to see what the car is delivered with - if it doesnt have the mirrors then I'll gladly take the £180 as they arent a deal breaker for me. J
  13. I actually really like the cappuccino - must be getting older
  14. LOL VRS was my first choice but wife wouldnt entertain it - doesnt like the seats or ride :(
  15. Thanks for the input. Im planning on keeping this one for at least another 6 years or more so over say 6 years I think I'll appreciate the extras like cruise control (I really miss it in my current Octi). Cheers J
  16. I tend to end up lugging stuff around - e.g. Electric wheelchair as my mother has Parkinsons along with usual kids stuff. We can fill the boot on the hatch when we go our hols as it is
  17. Hmm looks like I got ahead of myself - just spotted in the small print that the 0% finance is only on the L&K, Scout, 4x4 and vRS. Looks like Im back to the drawing board :( Cant afford it without the 0%.
  18. Even better - that would be another £160 saved
  19. Hi Guys Im a bit of a lurker but thought I'd say hi and ask everyone's opinion on my next car. Currently driving a 2004 54 plate Octavia 1.6FSI with 27k on the clock and would keep it longer as its been fantastic - reliable, cheap to run and excellent dealer after sales service. However the current VAT free on all Octavia's and 3 years 0% finance has me ready to visit my local dealer cash in hand (that and a 2 year old, wife and parents who need chauffeured around ). I do have enough savings for the 50% deposit and Im based in Lanarkshire (Central Scotland). I fancy the Octavia Estate 1.4TSI Elegance (DSG) which comes in at £15,033.19 with the following options Heated Seats £260.00 Metallic Paint £410.00 Silver Roof Rails £130.00 Sunset Glass £210.00 Spare Wheel £55.00 Inc VAT on the extras / ex vat on the Car itself I get the price to £16,098.19. 1. How much negotiation do you think I can get on price / cost to change ? Glass shows my FSI as circa £3500 - £4000 . I'd like to think I could get a CTC of around £12K (Approx £4100 for my FSI or additional discount on the extras. Possible ? 2. What metallic colour looks best ? My FSI is Silver. Open to recommendations. 3. Anything other models / makes I should consider ? the £16100 is about as high as I can go. Would welcome your comments. Cheers J
  20. How do you tell the difference ? Is is stamped on the engine or a plate anywhere ?
  21. Quick update on this. I popped by my local Skoda service centre this morning and had them check their data for the 1.6fsi engine. Much to the surprise of the guy I was talking to the 2004 1.6FSI is indeed a CAM chain and not a belt. Net result I don't need to be forking out for a new belt
  22. Im more confused now having looked at "What Car" wish I was more car savvy
  23. Hi Guys Quick question on this. I've got a 54 plate 1.6FSI with 25K on the clock (owned from new) . Dealer serviced every year and they have never mentioned getting the belt done. Should I be replacing it in the next few months ? Cheers J
