  1. I have a brand new headlight for the Skoda yeti. It is the mark 1 version of the yeti. Passenger side. I bought it for my headlight where one bracket had broken, but it has been welded secure so I no longer need it. It has been sat in my office since autumn 2024. Price includes postage in the UK I am in York if anyone was coming here for a day out. £140
  2. The code on the computer was wiped tonight. So no light is on at the moment. The code was saying throttle body. So it was cleaned and I think it just needed the code erasing. Fingers crossed all ok.
  3. What did we clean out at the front of the engine? It’s next to the air intake tube. I think it is the throttle body. where is the egr ? Can this get blocked up as well?
  4. I have a yellow / orange light on which is the exhaust system I think. It always comes on and we run the car for much of the year like this. But when the MOT comes around we need to sort out the issue. Normally it is the throttle body which has a lot of tar build up. So I had it cleaned this week and everything has been fine for a few days, but the light came on today. I am taking the car to see the mechanic tomorrow evening and he will do a diagnostic on it plus will cancel the old data on the computer. Im worried though that it will be a bigger problem. Does anyone know if this is a computer code issue which needs clearing or something else entirely. I can't believe it is the throttle body getting gunked up again as I saw for myself how clean it became. The car is 2L diesel 2 wheel drive, 2013 adventure with 127k miles.
  5. It’s a rear wheel bearing. We checked all wheels and this one was making a noise as you turned it. getting it changed in 10 days
  6. Thanks all for the info. Hoping to sort next week
  7. Ok I will point it out when the mechanic comes to have a look. He’s a mobile one
  8. I don’t understand what you are posting. Are you saying the back brakes are an issue? do these have stone shields? What are stone shields? Sorry I am not good with mechanics.
  9. The back brakes pads and discs were also done on the service. engine is 2L diesel. service was oil and the filters. Don’t think it was tested above 40mph
  10. 2WD the noise comes from an area I cannot pinpoint. All around I think. i do think it is rotational connected. I would need to get a garage to lift it up and see if the noise persists.
  11. My yeti has done 125k. it’s been making a whining/ humming sound when you go over 40mph. Recently been to Austria in it and it was making the noise on that trip. We don’t have any faults with it and it was serviced before we went to Austria. the noise was there before the trip as well. I’ve just become more aware of it now so it is bugging me. any ideas what the issue might be? I’m thinking something with the transmission. i don’t think it could be a tyre issue. These were new last autumn I think.
  12. Wow, that's good. What the hell are Skoda doing charging £1800 ? Some fools must be paying it.
  13. 2L diesel 2013
  14. I spoke to Skoda Leeds today about getting a price for my timing belt. It is £1800 currently to do it. Good news is that the mileage at which you change the timing belt has been raised to 140k miles. Previously it was at 70k miles and then every 50k or 5 years. This is what I've read on here and elsewhere. So I was all set to get mine done locally, but thought I would check what the cost would be at the main dealer. Told the price plus also told the new info. Our car has done 120k, so we have two more years to go. However, if I had mine done at 70k miles, does that mean I now don't need to do it for another 140k from the 70k mark ? Anyone else heard about this recent change in timing belt alterations ?
  15. Ok I see. Thanks
  16. Ok, so what is involved and the cost ?
  17. Yes had it done early on. I can’t change it now.
  18. Ok, so I think our air con is not doing so well as the screen mists up very easily. So it looks like the cam belt will need doing as last did it at 80k miles. It's now got 120k miles and will prob have 125K when we service it in august.. So is a cam belt change needed every 50K miles or so ?
  19. Hello All I thought I would update this thread instead of starting a new one. My question concerns the annual service again. What do I get done ? Its a 2013 Skoda TDI 2L 2 wheel drive manual. So in June 2021 I had the cam belt changed at 80k miles and the clutch and flywheel done. The car now has 120K miles and is due its annual service in August. It seems the EGR valve needs cleaning most years as my wife doesn't rev the car at all. We have the system light coming on every so often at the moment, but it goes off after a longer drive. So we know about this issue. We have never touch the DPF and cleaned it with chemicals etc. Should we be looking at cleaning it this year ? I have had my vans DPF done this Jan for the first time so have a guy who can do it for me. It turned out I didn't have any of the special liquid in the tank which gets injected into the DPF. Does the yeti have the same tank which needs topping up ? Any other bits which need looking at apart from the oil and filters ? The car has been fine for years apart from a few bits going wrong. Still very happy with it, but aware it is getting older and might need a bit more care.
  20. Ive just had my yeti 2013 2 WD 2LTD serviced by a friend/ mechanic. all ok, and he ran a code read and he reset a few. The throttle position sensor fault came straight back on after a test drive. Any ideas what problem this causes. We have had a yellow indicator come on a lot over the last year, so i assume this is the issue (yellow indicator to the right of the temp gauge) The low flow on the EGR valve is also an issue, but we dont get the EGR indicator coming on. He will come back to me with some prices to fix these issues. Just wanted to see if others on here know about these issues and what costs might be involved.
  21. Thanks for spotting that. I really had no idea it had been done. I get a mate to do it so don’t get paper work. I will make a note in my car file it’s been done. I never have any time to think nowadays.
  22. Pretty sure ours hasnt been changed. Maybe i need to look into it.
  23. My yeti has gone in to get the clutch slave cylinder pipe changed as it keeps leaking after i had a new clutch fitted (not skoda garage) last autumn. So that is going to be sorted. However they have sent a video showing bits that need attention. The brakes are at 55% and the discs are corroded, but i think these are ok for now so will wait until later to change. The exhaust clamp is pretty badly corroded. Should i get this replaced ? It is recommended. This is the only thing which i think needs doing. Also any idea when the cam belt will need changing. Car done 90k miles and is 9 y/o this nov.
  24. Our car regened the other week. So it seems all is ok at the moment. No warning light so i will just keep adding in the cleaners every so often.
