  1. Just out of curiosity what was the issue in the end? Only asking as mine cuts out after 10-15 minutes, I've changed the map and temperature sensor. The next thing on my list was to check the coil as I've been informed that they can start the car then play about once it warms up
  2. Oh trust me, the car idles like an absolute pig with it disconnected, but it's doesn't stall. Once I fit it, and test it, I'll let you know how I got on
  3. So.. I found another thread with someone experiencing the same problems as me.. I disconnected the map sensor and ran her up, she didn't cut out once. So new map sensor ordered and being delivered tomorrow. 👍🏻
  4. My mechanical knowledge is very basic, I do not own any electrical measuring instruments of any kind. I do know that an engine needs fuel, air and a spark to run so by process of elimination I think it could be an air issue, or lack of once the engine warms up
  5. Hi all, I need some advice. I broke down on my way to work yesterday (car just cut out and wouldn't restart). After lifting the bonnet whilst waiting for recovery I discovered the oil filler cap was missing, I ordered a new one, fitted it today and had to jumpstart the car as I drained the battery from turning it over.. The car fired up straight away but after 10-15 minutes of idling it stalled again and wouldn't restart.. I've read in another thread that it could be the crank sensor and possibly the ecu, does anyone have any ideas as to whether that could be true? And or what the problem could be, Ive had the car for 2 years now and this is the 1st time it's let me down, no warning signs or noises. It just stopped. Thanks
  6. Thanks, I think after having a little read I'll replace the housing too, can you recommend any reliable brands as I've read that the cheap Chinese ones more often than not fail straight away, I fitted a febi bilstein temp sensor and that seems ok
  7. Hello, could anyone recommend where I can purchase the correct thermostat for my 1998 1.3 mpi felicia (68hp). I changed the temperature sensor yesterday and noticed the thermostat had broken up inside the housing I don't trust buying one from ebay. Thanks
  8. It is the facelift on a R reg, the engine is the 68hp version I think that's probably my best option, thanks.
  9. Hey chaps.. I'm having a bit of an issue trying to get the correct brake pads, so far I bought a set online and they are wrong, my ones need to have the metal clip thing that's on the top where as the brembo ones I purchased have got what looks like wings on either end, does anyone know where I can get the correct ones rather than keep ordering online to then send them back.. Thanks
  10. Thanks chaps... I've found it.. Should make ordering parts a little easier now
  11. Hi all, I'm new and have absolutely no mechanical knowledge of any kind so please be gentle, lol. I have a mk2 felicia 1.3, I've seen online that skoda made these engines with 3 power outputs, is there anyway I can find out which output my engine has?, I've been searching high and low but can't find it anywhere.. Thank in advance
