  1. Also meant to say that it is the square base that the water gushes out of not the pipe. Makes the boot smell nice but a bit wet😄
  2. We have 2011 Octavia. Have tried replacing rear wiper motor. Removing the wiper arm was a bit tricky and we bought a removal tool which was a game changer. New motor duly installed. Only trouble is when water spray operates a load of water comes out around the hose attachment. It is slightly different fitting on this motor than old one. We must be doing something daft. Thank you!!
  3. will look for the code by spare wheel. Didn't know I had one (a code near spare wheel) thank you
  4. Hi I have an amber engine warning light that has been a problem for at least 5 years. Things tried. -garage repair and lambada sensor replaced -garage repair and mass airflow sensor replaced -garage repair and another sensor replaced- each time time stays off for couple of weeks and then back on again. -tried petrol carb treatment stuff that you pop a bottle in through filler cap. worked for several weeks. -fuel filter replaced by brother-worked for several weeks -took to different garage for mot a month ago. they said it was the thermostat on exhaust. worked for 2 weeks. one of the garages did say the had read that a 'lazy carburettor ' can be cause. The petrol consumption is thirstier than an alcoholic. Any suggestions much appreciated, thanks guys!
  5. Hi, continuing to have some issues with my drivers side window, but progressing, although need advice. Basically, have had problems with the electric window. Tried the little switches on door (twice and worked for a bit); then had a go at taking the window motor apart and messed it up so bought another one. Yes-I am completely useless! Any, have popped the replacement window motor in now. Worked brilliantly a couple of times. It operates the passenger window no problems. However, to get the drivers window to move up I have to press the switch down and visa versa the other way😁 I could live with that, except that when I wind window down and then try and wind window up I can hear the motor working fine but the window makes a juddering noise. I can get it to go up if I get out of car and put my hands on both sides of glass. Do I need a new regulator or is it just sitting strangely? Thank you!!
  6. Hi guys. Have changed the window motor äfter both front windows stopped working. I càn operate the passenger window fine from drivers side. However when I try the drivers window I can hear the motor turning but window not working. Any idea thanks loads!!
  7. Hi KenONeil. Thanks ever so mu ch for reply. I will have to google to work out out what the ignition live circuit is -thank you.
  8. Hi. I have bought dh some heated pads for his driver seat. One lot decided to give up.the ghost quickly. The other one he forgot to unplug after turning of ignition and drained battery. Both versions are in bin. His car doesn't have an auto shut off for cigarette light which is what they were plugged into so things still stay charging unless physically unplugged. Does anyone have any suggestions about type of heated seat pads that are good or work around. I wondered about adding a separate fuse but know nothing about this type of of thing. Thanks loads dawn
  9. Thank you J R . I did wonder if it was back to front but it seems to work out right with the slope of the fuse board. Might take one of the other fuses out and see if it corresponds to right thing.thank you Thanks Kenoneill. Will have a go!
  10. Hi. We have an octavia tsi. 2011 model. Rear wiper suddenly stopped working. After having mot done but that might be random coincidence. Went to check fuse. Number 41 15A in the fuse panel near dash. Well there wasn't a fuse in expected hole! There is a 40a one in the number 40 fuse. Are we just being daft or looking in wrong place? Also had a look at old messages and motor seems to go. Is it tricky ? Also how.we do get wiper arm off. Sorry lo g message. Thank you
  11. Hi Breezy Pete. Thank you for suggestions. I have given the windows a wiggle and no movement ao thinking if trying replacing the window motor. Managed to get serial number. Loads on ebay that are almost same number. Some same as mine but start at 70quid that sounds a lot. Thank you!
  12. Hi everyone. Got a htp 2007 model. Had no end of issues with the front electric windows. Have tried following remedies. -passenger window stopped working and window wouldn't move and is was half way up window. Took it to an auto electric guy who found broken lead in the door bundle thing (not sure what called but by hinge of door.) Worked great for a bit. Then drivers door didn't work. Tried replacing the double switch with one from amazon (on oem) again, worked great for a bit. The drivers door window stopped working again. Tried same remedy of a new switch. Worked great for a bit. Then passengers door stopped working again. Tried new passenger door switch. Worked great for a bit. Then the other day both windows won't work at all, although lights are on on the door switches. Did a bit of googling. Saw suggestion of taking fuses out and leaving for a bit. Sort of worked. Both windows will work coming down but sometimes won't work going up. Will go up with the trick of putting the key in door lock and holding. Does this all point to the motor/module thing and if so where is it. Seen some photos that show it under dash and others in door. Thank you!
  13. Hi everyone. I love my 1.2 htp 2008 but being driven up wall by the engine management light and various attempts to address the issue. The garage has replaced the lambeda? sensor, the mass airflow sensor and another sensor. The eml would remain off for a few days and then come on seemingly randomly. The fuel filter was changed and the eml stayed off for a few weeks, but back on again now. One garage said they had heard of a lazy cat converter being the route of the problem. I took it to a specialist vw/skoda garage (not main dealer) who did a smoke vacuum test with no issues. It does sometimes seem a tad hesitant to start when cold- needs to be turned over 2 or 2 x. Had a new battery a few months ago. I want to keep the car but not keen on idea of spending a load more money on it. Any ideas? Thanks lots Dawn
