  1. @Gez280Just an update to say thanks again - u hit the nail on the head ! Took the car to a different dealership and suggested it could be this issue. They liaised with SKODA UK technical and came up with a fix. Unfortunately, it took them two goes to get it right. On the drive home after the initial fix, i noticed the vibrations at 1900 RPM (instead of 2600 RPM), so i had to take it back again! Anyway, goes to show how different the service level is between dealerships!
  2. @Gez280thanks a lot for that info...i hadn't noticed if it was rev connected, but i will check next time i am out. Interestingly, on a short drive to the supermarket and back today, i didn't hear the noise at all. But it has been very cold lately and it's certainly more common once the car has warmed up. I too have a 4x4. Did you notice it happening more readily in sport mode?
  3. @roottootThe lead mechanic at the dealership did take the car for a road test and confirmed the fault. The lady from the service department told me he told her "that noise would drive me crazy"; however, as he didn't think it was engine related, it would not be covered by Skoda warranty. She even tried to charge me for their work. I refused of course. I called Skoda UK today. They advised me to contact another dealership as it should be covered under warranty and the dealer shouldn't charge for looking at it. so i then called another dealership and got put through to the lead mechanic. He said they would be happy to investigate and would not charge for diagnostic work providing the fault is fairly easy to replicate (which it is). He also confirmed the warranty would cover it even if it's not engine/suspension related. So i have booked the car in with them. I really cannot believe the cheek of the other dealership.
  4. A very-weird issue with my 19-plate Superb: After hard acceleration, upon decceleration there's a buzzing noise from the front RHS of the vehicle. It used to only happen in sports mode, so i thought it might be suspension related (as i have DCC). However, now it also happens in normal mode, albeit only when i accelerate quite hard. The mechanic from a local Skoda dealer took the car for a test and confirmed the issue; however, he said he thinks it's not engine/suspension related and, therefore, not covered by Skoda warranty. Is he correct in saying only engine issues are covered? The mechanic thinks it's something in the door, but it would cost a lot to investigate that! Given it only happens when taking my foot off the gas after hard acceleration, however, does a door issue even make sense? It doesn't to me.
  5. That was also my suspicion, but it's been tested twice - last June by an indy and recently by a ŠKODA dealer.
  6. Agreed, and, as i said, it does rise a bit therefater. That said, the (11.8V) figure i get is the same as the dealer got from testing. My main point, tho, is that the solar charger is not helping it hold charge.
  7. Quick update having bought and used a 10W solar charger for about ten days now: it's made no difference! Upon opening the bonnet and connecting the voltmeter i get around 11.8V. Keeping it connected for a while results in an slow increase up to about 12V. But that's it - far from good enough for start/stop. Do i need a more-powerful solar charger? @PetrolDavesaid he's getting 12.6V with his. BTW, charging with my CTEK gets the battery up to 12.8V, but, by the next morning, it's already down to 12V. As i said before, however, the dealer said the battery's fine. Any ideas, anyone?
  8. Just got my Superb back from the Skoda dealer. I asked him about these solar chargers - he said they don't work that well with 12V sockets because these sockets are intended to deliver power from the battery rather than supply it with power. He said the old cigarrette lighters work better for charging purposes. No idea if he's right - i will probably still get that solar charger and test it myself ! Otherwise, for anyone that's interested, they said there is no issue with the battery (which they measured at 11.7V). The KESSY issues were rectifed by simply changing the key battery. I never thought the key battery needed to be changed because the key had no problem opening/locking the car, even from a substantial distance. However, apparently, when you lock/unlock the car with the key, the key only needs to send a signal. But, with KESSY, the key needs to receive a signal as well. And that requires a higher key-battery voltage.
  9. Ah, okay. In that case, should i do it again the proper way? [BTW, about ten days after charging, i'm down to 12V]
  10. OK, i didn't know that. What i did doesn't seem to have done any harm to the battery, fortunately.
  11. I used a CTEK MXS 5.0 to charge it, got it up to 12.7V. Next morning it was down to 12.2. That was about a week ago and i haven't tested it since. Unfortunately, short runs are all i do at the moment! BTW, when charging i connected both + and - to the battery terminals. Is that not how it's done?
  12. Quick update: after charging yesterday, voltage measured 12.7 and both virtual pedal and KESSY worked. However, by this morning voltage had dropped to 12.2 and virtual pedal no longer works. KESSY is again intermittent. Sounds like a warranty check is in order!
  13. Since buying my 2019 Superb just over a year ago, i've had trouble with the start-stop functionlity. However, lately, i've also been having issues with KESSY not working. So i have just measured the voltage of the original (Moll 69Ah) car battery: 11.79V. My journeys are all very short, and i realise that isn't great for the battery, but is such a low voltage normal on a two-year old battery?
  14. Just measured the battery voltage: 11.79V. I'm guessing that's on the low side.
  15. Well i have a CTEK MXS 5 battery charger, but i'm not sure if i can use that on these newer car batteries. Will look into it....
  16. It's deffo not the key battery (as the issues are the same with the spare keys) and opening/locking with the key buttons is flawless.
  17. Firstly, apologies if i'm posting in the wrong forum! On my Superb III (2019), the KESSY has started playing up after a year of no issues. Essentially, locking/unlocking is random in that touching the handles sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. Furthermore, i have recently noticed that the virtual boot pedal no longer works. I am unsure whether this is related to the KESSY issues or not. Could a poorly-charge car battery be the cause? I only do short journeys these days and the battery is, therefore, never properly charged.
  18. The boot net programme is supposed to be standard on my MY19 Superb L&K; however, it only came with one net - see pic. I asked the dealer about this, and he said his manager's L&K came with just one net as well. But i'm pretty sure there should be three - can anyone here confirm?
  19. On the Škoda website i can only find the latest (September) version. But I'm after the previous version. Anyone have a copy?
