(size="5"]Thanks for that. As I said at the beginning, I`m living with it (no choice) but I`m reminded of the shortcoming EVERY time I close the door. Just to clear up a point. Contrary to the views of some, I HAVN`T has a humour bye- bass and enjoy a laugh as much as the next person. I simply made the basic mistake of thinking that this was a technical section of the forum, set aside for technical matters. Quite obviously I was wrong.[/size]

David, Thank goodness for your reply. With all the idiotic responses I received, I wished I`d never bothered asking. Your observations sum up EXACTLY what it was that I was trying to say. Many thanks.

Read my post. I said` hard to control`. As for picking faults, this is my fifth Skoda (two Octavia estates before the Fabia`s) and so I think I`m well placed to pass fair, honest and constructive comment. If I didn`t think they were brilliant - do you think I`d have bought five new ones. Get real and stop the juvenile digs. If you have nothing of value to add to my question, then why post anything?

Sorry , my mistake. I thought that this was a serious forum. Had this been my first Fabia, the door opening issue would not have arisen. As it`s my third, I have several years experience to compare it with and IT IS more difficult. Of that there is NO DOUBT. Any SENSIBLE comment is welcome.

Perhaps it is me then. I never gave it a thought with my other two Fabia`s, when opening/closing the door. Now I HAVE to. I still automatically reach to my side rather than forwards. I`ll live with it - as I have no choice.

Hi, I`m on my third new Fabia 5 door estate. This `09 one has a design problem that I`m having to learn to live with. I wondered if it`s just me, or does anyone else agree. The single inside door pull is positioned too far forward and in close spaces or a wind, opening of the door is very hard to control. Which bright spark decided that the usual one further back wasn`t required any more?

How to use the Fabia MP3 socket?
stuckontrucks replied to stuckontrucks's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
Thanks for the replies. I`ve posted to the correct forum. You are indeed correct regarding having to select `Aux` mode. My problem is not knowing what cable I need in order to couple them together. -
Hi, I have a LG KU990i mobile phone which includes an MP3 player. Can anyone advise on how to connect it to the socket near the handbrake on my new Fabia, please.

My new Fabia has an MP3 socket adjacent to the hand brake. What spec do I need when buying a player and will a connection lead be included? Thanks in advance. Jim

Simpsons Skoda (Preston) Ltd - Preston..
stuckontrucks replied to DGW's topic in Skoda Dealers - North West
I`d like to add to the glowing report on Simpson`s. My only complaint was having to travel to Colne for service. When I saw that they had opened the Preston dealership i I couldn`t have been happier. Jim -
Hi, One thing I have missed on my last two Fabia Estates is the terrific third sunvizor that was fitted behind the rear-view mirror on my Octavia Estate. Is there one available for the Fabia, would the Octavia one fit, or is there any other method of solving this problem please?

Hi , My name is Jim and I live in Leyland Lancashire. I`m now on my fifth Scoda and still can`t find a bad thing to say about any of them (not that I`m looking - mind you). Prior to retiring my business partner and I ran two pairs of Otavia 1.9 diesel estates and fully loaded gave 100% better fuel returns than our Land Rover Discoveries. (52 MPG as opposed to 27MPG). Since then I have had a Favia estate and am now on my second Fabia estate. I`d no intention of buying my current car, but whilst waiting for my previous one to have it`s second annual service, I was made an offer to exchange that I would have been mad to turn down. One thing I have noticed since buying my first Skoda is that all the jokes have dried up and all I now get is admiration.
