  1. It is I realise, brakes would be uprated when I get it mapped. Thanks for your help, just need to get looking
  2. Thanks for clearing that up. So really different turbo, injectors and mapping could take it up to nearing 160/170bhp.
  3. What are the differences in the engine between the 1.9 in the vrs and the 1.9 in the mk2.
  4. Hi guys. I know this relates to the mk2 but is it a close relation to the mk1 vrs, just with different injectors and turbo etc. Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried to search but came up blank. Thanks
  5. Thanks. I need to improve my search skills.
  6. I need some help, going to look at a 1.9tdi 105bhp. Is this the same engine as in the mk1 vrs, but just with different turbo and injectors. I apologise if this has been asked loads, I did a search but came up blank. Thanks.
  7. I am, had two vrs's and considering another or going to be boring and get an estate.
  8. I like the thought of the 1.9 as I know its not to hard to get to mk1 vrs figures and above. The 1.6 does sound better on the low tax and 140bhp after a remap.
  9. Evening all Is the 1.9 tdiin the early fabia sports the same as the mk1 vrs engines. Just looking at getting a mk2 and noticed the 1.6tdi and the 1.9tdi have the samw outputs.
  10. I will have to look at the 1.6 as my journey home consists of 50% of heavy traffic and 50% of free flowing. The morning is quite clear. The average speed over my 90 mile round trip is 36mph.
  11. Awayoffski I know what you mean but I would suspect Superb drivers are a bit more sensible in their driving style. Fabia would be a mk2 1.6tdi
  12. Morning all. I have a question, a guy I met this morning had a 2.0tdi and was raving about getting 60-70 mpg on a run. Is this true, I do 450miles a week in my current car (s max) so looking to change. Is the superb really that good or do I go back and consider a fabia estate.
  13. Thank you. Just researching, so in the new year I will take a proper look. It was bugging me, so thought I would ask.
  14. Morning all. I have been looking at the estates and hatchbacks as I want to get rid of my car in the new year. Autotrader specs on both cars say the boot space is 505 litres, surely the estate has slightly more. I need a reasonable boot for our camping gear. Can anyone shed any light on this please. Thanks
  15. I should of been clearer, it will be the 105 diesel as I do over 14k a year commuting. It's little to be like rear electric windows on the scout vs none on the Monte.
  16. Hi I am again bored of my current car as it's too big (s max). Given it by the wife as she got a new car, it's great for the half a dozen times we go camping or on holiday. However I now have it in my head I want a Skoda again. What's people opinions on the scout and Monte. I like the looks of the Monte but prefer the spec on the scout. Thanks for any feedback.
  17. Hi In the new year I will be looking at getting a Superb, I have seen one with park assist. Was this a extra or standard on higher spec cars. Thanks
  18. Our family S max diesel will be getting replaced with another diesel as neither volvo or nissan do petrol for the vehicles we want. I am torn between a 98k mile mk2 vrs or a 118d m.sport. We shall see how it all works out.
  19. Scrappage is good if you can afford to finance a new car. I am not in that position so will just be buying a newer diesel and see how it pans out.
  20. Getting a phone call later today to discuss about the service history.
  21. So in your opinion diesel is still the best way to go , even with tax changes.
  22. I would like to upgrade from my 03 yaris and get back into a skoda.
  23. It may not be but the budget is only 5k so a new 1.2 is out of the question. As for travelling, I drive into the suburbs of London to get a tube in 90% of the time.
