  1. I have a Xiaomi phone and everything works fine. 1. Check that the contacts sharing option in your phone is switched ON (Settings/Bluetooth/My Skoda......./Contacts sharing) 2. Check if your contacts are on the phone or the SIM. Sometimes SIM contacts does not import properly 3. Upgrade to the latest MIUI version for your phone. The old ones were very buggy
  2. Skoda connect and smartlink are separate things. Skoda connect is a pretty gimmick, but not much useful unless you constantly forget where you park your car. If your car have auxiliary heater, the Connect app lets you control it for preheating or ventilation (information from Skoda's website). Smartlink enables the use of Android Auto/Apple Carplay.
  3. CP removal and the recoding can be done by third party, but Smartlink currently can be activated only by Skoda,
  4. Try to reset the infotainment to fabric settings. This should do the job
  5. I was in the same situation when i was searching for new car. I considered the new Octavia but the prices were quite high. What helped me was the big discounts of the early SCALAs in my country and the generous standard extras. I don't know the workings of the PCP/leasing in UK, but in BG when you get car on finance by the dealer, if you don't like it you can switch to new model (of course from the brand) at some point.

    It is not standard https://www.theskodashop.co.uk/products/usb-type-c-to-usb-type-a-adapter
  7. Hello, In SE and SL, the smartlink option is standard, so you will have android auto. Lane assist cannot be permanently disengaged .
