  1. There should be an internal release by the drivers seat? if not try pulling the seats down crawl into the boot and take off the trim that covers the lock, you should be able to have a good look while your there you might notice that a small peice of white plastic, like a donut with a spear coming off it (sounds stupid but you will see it) if this has broken i would reccomend going to a scrappy and finding a mk1/mk2 golf (whichever one has a similar boot release) and take the same bit out, this one is metal and wont break again!
  2. Ah now if you were only looking a few months earlier you could have had my old one, went cheap for £500 as well, less miles than that as well, not in quite as good a condition though
  3. 1 - the car is generally very reliable, the only major common problems are the alternators and the temp sensors (do a search see if my thread about both my alternators is still around) 2- the usual induction kit and bigger 'zorst are the only ones i can think of but im not a mechanic - the 1.6 engine would have been a better one to start with 3- 'Pinkskud' has got coilovers on his felly you would be best off pm'ing him about it, he knows most about it 4- No one here sells them but just search in google for 'skoda felicia performance' or something similar, 'jorily skoda' sells a few things on ebay, look for the shop 5 - pass, but i have a funny feeling its semi-synth, i only had mine for 5 months and never changed the oil
  4. Injector cleaner is mainly ethanol (im led to beleive), not so sure about isopropanol, but you have to be carefull when adding your own ethanol into the fuel tank as any more than 5% could damage your fuel lines and injectors
  5. The connections for my rear speakers were in the front footwells, tok me and my mate a good hour to find them!

Thats practically mint condition compared to the one i had to drive he other day to hep my mate break it, windows didnt work, central locking was knackered, brakes didnt work, head gasket failure, radiator dead, and hes already made £200 off it! there might be a few parts i could do with - the whole fuel system if its the right sort - anyway enough of the off topic, back to the skoda rebuid!
  7. my dad lends me all his tools as well...he doesnt want to but he should get a locked box in the garage then! also read you had a 306, if you end up scrapping it and breaking it for spares im on a 306 owners site and could advertise it for you if you like looking forard to any more updates
  8. great read mate, i love reading peoples diaries about how they have done something albeit not quite the right way by the way ive got a haynes manual for sale as i dont need it any more you can have it for a tenner posted, just drop me a pm if you want it
  9. i ran mine through the passenger footwell, cant remember where i found the hole, when it gets dark put away the carpet in the footwells and get a bright torch, shine it into the footwells then have a look into the engine bay and see if you can see the light coming through
  10. got an offer for the car today, £500, didnt really want to say no as i was getting fed up having the car and not knowing what was going on with it so as of next week i will officially be a non skoda owner :( im really sad to see it go
  11. back from the MOT had to race it across town to get it back before the auction closed, but use the minimal amount of petrol at the same time, its so slow compared to my pug! anywho it passed with only one advisory - exhaust centre section starting to blow (funnily enough same problem with the pug when i took that in for its MOT) but its back up for sale with a reserve of £600 just gotta hope someone wants it
  12. Right its MOT day today, my insurance is covering me just gotta drive it down there....anone want to have a guess what it might fail on?
  13. i was hoping for £500 but that was with a 3/4 month mot, this is coming with a brand new mot, and a new alternator rather than the scrappy one that didnt work properly, its also had the ever elusive fuel filter change which catches most people out, also the slipping cluth.....well the clutch is high, not sure if its slipping or just needs adjusting becaue ive been told by one person its slipping, then my dad said it wasnt, then i drove a car with a slipping clutch and relised mine isnt slipping its just needs adjusting i think!, but its an easy job to do ive been told, and all the problems i had with it were the alternator blowing up the battery and the ecu, me being a cheap student and not geting round to replacing them for 3 months MOT on wednesday and it will pass, passed last time no problem and i did about 5000 miles in it, what could have gone wrong?
  14. its been put into the auction for another month at my expense of twenty quid but they have said it would be fine for me to drive it away to get an mot and bring back to them so do you think its unreasonable to ask for £600 for a T reg car with 1 years MOT, 30,000 miles on it, no service history (apart from the last 4 mot's) or v5? in fairly good condition apart from a couple of scratches on the back, 1 previous owner
  15. ah sh!t, a mate of mines neighbour was interested in buying it so thats why i need it back at my house for him to have a good look at it, but he seems like a bit of a timewaster or i would just leave it down there again, could i drive it to the mot place without any tax on it?
