  1. I’m the same mate have a clue what some of these are talking about I went to scored today at four mate diagnostic and they did it for free because they solve the problem within 10 minutes and didn’t charge me £90 which is a plus. they are sending my details of the Skoda to see if I can get some good will charge, still a possibility nothing could happen. I mentioned about the SMF causing extra Vibrations and making the clutch had to work and my car is sounding rough however he reckons he said to use the SMF because of durability also he added he would be recommended that they put in a new thicker and fatter crankshaft in to compensate there being a SMF. The guy helping us out is sound. he says he’s going to keep me updated to see if Skoda can help me out with the price as it’s got full Skoda history I was talking to the Specialist mechanic and he was saying that’s he has had these issues with some other Skodas so it is an issue Yet not putting a call back on them. When I first enquired about it to the dealership the man who sign outside that it’s not really a problem as I stated in my other replies on this forum but talking to the mechanic he he said that he said ongoing problem for the duel mass flywheel to break after low miles thanks for all the replies it’s help me out a lot because I have zero ****ing clue what They are talking about
  2. Yes it is a TPI, I’ve been looking around these forums About a DMF to SMF all that it says is what you’ve just explained. I just don’t know what to do? try and go with Skoda and try and help them with the pricing or to just go through a mechanic that will fit a new DMF. or I could ask them to just put a dual mass flywheel in, but let’s say it happens again another 10,000 miles down the road
  3. sorry if I’m being unclear I’m having trouble working it out myself. Yes DMF has failed. It’s Noisy and there is vibrations. I went to a Skoda approved garage, they referred me to the dealership because I need a S/W update? also a DMF conversion to a single mass. so when I went to the dealership I told them about my issue and they said we can price the parts and labour at £1000 (give or take) they said there is a kit Which I question them saying if you have a kit then surely it’s a ongoing problem with the DMF?. they guy started talking about how he wanted the Car Too have another diagnostics test which would cost me £90, and then he’ll get the information send it off to Skoda and then get a reply if I can get a goodwill charge but obviously I don’t fully trust this? I was speaking to another mechanic before I actually went to the dealership and he had 25 years of experience with VW parts he suggested to keep a jewel mass fly in it because a single would not be able to comprehend the engine and so fourth like I said I just wanted anyone’s opinion because I feel like going through the dealership it good if they can get this goodwill charge would help and if anyones been in this situation if they can help me out because I am I’m in a situation where I’ve got a seven grand car that I’ve had for six months, And I’m gonna have to pay another grand and a bit to fix something that shouldn’t really happen on a three-year-old car
  4. Sorry, I was talk about they said it’s not common on Skoda for the duel mass flywheel to go before so little miles yet they’ve got a kit to fix the problem converting it to a single mass flywheel
  5. Yes it a 1.4 DTI, it’s the dealer that say they have a kit to change it to a SMF yet say they it’s not a problem with the DMF
  6. Also I’ve bought the car 6 months ago from the car people, and done 49,000
  7. Had my car checked at a garage (2016 mk3 Fabia SE ) and they referred me to the dealer about a System update and a conversion from a duel to a single fly wheel. They said that this is not a common fault yet they have a kit for it, they said to have my car diagnosed again with them and they can sent off the information to Skoda so I could get a “good will act” and can get a percentage off the £1000 I was quoted. just wondering if anyone has been in my situation and out help thanks.
