  1. Hi, looking for advice. Today the little warning light showing a picture of an engine stays lit. The manual - in French - tells me that there's some kind of exhaust gas imbalance. My habitual mechanic has told me - in French - that driving at 2500rpm for 10 minutes should clear it. Does anyone have the same experience? It seems like the advice given for clearing the particulate filter. Is he right or should I worry about it? If I call my local Skoda garage (50km away) I'll have to drive there and pay 42€ for a diagnostic, then go back another day and pay 150€ for a new sensor. Thanks for reading to the end. BOZ
Merci, M. BOZ Hi there, are there any French folks on this forum, or people with French-market Skodas? I have a Yeti for which I'm searching out a paint retouch kit, but the colour code - found in the service manual and on a ticket under the boot floor - is 9157, Not number, letter, number and letter. The name of this colour is either Platin grey or Steel grey, but it seems more metallic silver than grey to me Is there no commonality between colour codes everywhere? I don't wish to touch my car up in the colour of a cow!! Thanks Mister BOZ
  3. Hmmm. I wouldn't know what I found if I took it to bits! My expertise extends as far as removing and reinstalling, but not disassembling. New motor bought, fitted and working.
  4. could be red, but I scanned up and down a few pages and in the colour keys I only found pink (rs) Anyway despite not understanding I've tested all 3 white wires against brown with the rear wipe switched on and all show 12v, which was what I needed to know, as it means the motor is kaput!
  5. Hi there, just like one of your other correspondents below I have a rear wiper which does not move at all; it used to work occasionally, but then stopped dead some months ago. Because I'm basically a cheapskate I don't wish to pay my local Skoda garage over 300€ to fit a new one, so I've removed the rear trim to access the motor. Having checked the fuse (#6) and found it to be intact I want to check the wiring to see if there's feed going to the motor, before removing the motor as a last resort. I've downloaded the full wiring harness - uploaded by Arkaig - and found the relevant page (#15), but my problem is this... The cable connected to the motor has 4 wires: brown, which is earth, and 3 others, all of which are plain white, which is rather odd as they should be black with green, green with white and green with rt (the colour for which I can't even find). Can anybody shed any light on this apparent anomaly please?
  6. I have almost the exact same problem, which came about this afternoon when I changed the battery in my 2009 (LDH) Yeti TDi 4*4 2.0... I now can only get into 3rd and 4th; the problem is that I can't logically link this problem - which seems inherently mechanical in nature - with the removal and replacement of the battery. The gear lever can be pushed to the appropriate position, but the relevant gear does not engage and the lever drops back to a non-engaged position. All the lekky bits work fine. Anybody know if this is a known problem with an easy fix? The clutch smells every time I pull away in 3rd, and I can't drive everywhere at 80 kmh maximum at 2500rpm
  7. Thank you Spidgetman for letting me know I'm not alone in suffering with this malaise... The only difference, were I to have typed the original story, would be that the driver's side front carpet is wet, because I live in France and therefore have a LHD model; clearly they do not jiggle around with the arrangement of trim, drains etc. outside the cabin, so we have the same issue. Having suffered a major roof leak (bottom of LH A pillar drain having come disconnected) I cut the old pipe and installed a new one passing through the fusebox. I also have sealed my roof and still have ingress (about 1l per week, where previously I could get 10l in a day). I have removed the A pillar trim and replaced it with a wad of tissue in there, which remains dry even tough the floor is wet. Having therefore eliminated the roof from my enquiries , I assumed that the water must be coming in under the bonnet, and have considered removing the carpet then watering the car to see if I could see where it's running down the bulkhead, but I don't know how. Anybody who does, please advise. Thanks
