  1. thanks for the update! Shame about the other issues too......we are the other end of the Fabia2 spectrum, 120K miles and great so far but this is maddening! I will plug away, at least here in scotland its cooling down so less window opening action going on...
  2. Hi its a while back for you but.....did you ever get a fix? I have almost exactly the same problem not tried the removing the passenger fuse to see if that affects the driver side.. All motors work - like you I can drive the windows down/up with the key in the lock. stripped the door switches - they are clean and look good. But windows dont work using either switch. All since the wires broke at the door hinge.... I fitted a brand new door harness. anything you have could be helpful! cheers Stuart
  3. Dave - did you work it out? I have exactly the same issue. I replaced the full door harness today with new one from Skoda (ie have no broken wires!). Windows work with the key in the door (turn and hold) but not via the switch. Switch is good - I stripped and checked the full mechanism out, cleaned it up but the contacts were all good. Fuses are all fine. Anyhow - just interested how you got on. cheers Stuart
  4. Hi there - interested in your eventual fix? I have the same model of Fabia mk2 it sounds like - electric windows front, manual windows rear, power mirrors. They all stopped working a few months back (car passed its MOT with them not working which was nice :). I had the classic broken wires in the door and this week replaced the harness with a new one from SKODA. all fitted perfectly. Windows still don't work. Tried all the fixes suggested on these pages. Using a key externally in the lock mechanism the windows do drop fully and raise - the 'comfort fix' operates the windows (so the mechanism & power is good) but doesnt reset the system. I pulled the fuses and reinserted to mimic disconnecting the battery but plan tomorrow is to do just that. I stripped and cleaned the drivers door switch - actually it looked pretty good but I cleaned the contacts anyway. Great to read all your work above - interested if you eventually got the power windows working?
