  1. kodiaqsportline. It is on variable servicing, and we were told when we purchased it that servicing would be every 20K miles. The car was purchased new in Dec 2019 with a service plan from the dealer (Arnold Clark Skoda in Inverness) for 4 services and 2 MOTs with no time limit. It was serviced after 11 months at 15000 miles, then again at 21 months at 34000 miles. I assumed it would get another service plus MOT towards the end of this year, and the same again towards the end of 2023. That would be 4 services and 2 MOT. As I mentioned earlier, the problem is that it now requires an 'oil service' cost around £180 according to Skoda, after just 4 months and 7000 miles. My suspicion is that they did not reset it follow the last service. N.B. Arnold Clark (AC) Skoda in Inverness went out of business just after we purchased the car, but following confirmation from Skoda UK, (to keep warranty good), it could be serviced by any AC service center so long as Skoda parts were used. Which I assume they have been. So it is being serviced by AC Volvo in Inverness. And when you say "If someone forget to reset the indicator - big deal, nobody should expect a £100 freebie for such a minor oversight", it is a big deal to me if I have to fork out £180 for an oil service after such a short period because someone, (who I paid) forgot to reset the indicator.
  2. I purchased a Skoda Karoq in December 2019 with a service contract with local dealer. Car was serviced on 07.10.21 at 33900 miles. Last month, after just 4 months and another 7000 miles, the 'OIL SERVICE' warning appeared. As far as I'm aware, the car is on 'variable' oil service, which means the the service warning will come on when required. (As opposed to 'fixed' service warning of 12K miles) Given that an oil service is well over £100 these days, my question:- "Is 4 months and 7K miles acceptable between oil services?" Or could it be that the dealer did not reset the vehicle computer when it was serviced? Any thoughts or advice on this?
  3. Many thanks for your reply. Yes, the car had only 8000 miles on it, but mysteriously changed to 9300 while parked in drive. I'm pretty sure it is on flexible servicing, and we asked to be put on flexible when we bought it. Is there a way I can tell? Unfortunately dealership (Arnold Clark Skoda Inverness), now closed for good, and servicing etc now taken over by Arnold Clark Hyundai Inverness. They're not interested in what has happened, and tell me this is impossible, and I need the oil changed at £148 (pricey!) Also, pre paid for 4 services and 2 MOTs with Arnold Clark, but don't want to use a 'service' just for an oil change. Have had problems in the past with Arnold Clark, and wishing now I had stayed clear of them.
  4. Bought a new Karoq TDI 2.0 4x4 in Jan this year. Because of lockdown/furlough it only had 8000 miles on it. Yesterday, got in, started it, and noticed all my settings, date, time, radio, display, etc had changed (possibly reset to factory settings). Plus it now had 9300 miles on it and a warning that the oil required changing. It has been sitting in the driveway for the past week, and definitely not been out for a 1300 mile drive. Thinking it may be some sort of computer 'glitch'! Anyone experienced this type of thing? And if it is a glitch, do you think the oil will really need changing at 8000 or 9000 miles? Thanks
